Umm... I am not sure if this is the best place to share but my academic background largely focused on animation and cinematic theory and I have found a lot of inspiration in animation. As evidenced by my last post I tend to prefer an illustrative style. Although I am also a fan of bold colour pallets and bolder designs. I particularly think the design work and colours of the great Eyvind Earle would be great inspiration for Sylvaneth players. Although, her work with Disney often explored broader fantasy tropes and aesthetics.

I think that there are a lot of fantastic animation works such as Gwen and the Book of Sand (Laguionie, 1985), Fantastic Planet (Laloux, 1973) Princess Monoke (Miyazaki, 1973), Princess Kaguya (Takahata, 2013) and The Adventures of Prince Achmed (Reiniger, 1926) that have really inspired some of my ideas of fantasy.

Obviously comics, video games and television have captured my imagination and inspired my hobby work as well.  I always wanted to make a Brettonian army based around the colours and themes of Prince Valiant (Foster et al. 1937-present):
