Can Idoneth take Lumineth as allies?

Pretty much what the title says. New AoS player, trying to figure out how allies work. The Idoneth battletome doesn't list Lumineth as allies, but that's obvious because it came out years ago. Lumineth can take Idoneth as allies. Does this work the other way, too - so Idoneth can take Lumineth? Or do allies not go both ways, and for some reason Lumineth can take Idoneth but not vice versa?

No, Idoneth can’t take Lumineth as allies at the moment. What you do with an older BT is to look at the newest General’s Handbook (right now the 2020 version). That will show you any changes in points, allies and so on. Sometimes not all of the factions make into the Handbook, in that case you can check on the Warhammer Community FAQ page if there are any updates.

And then sometimes you have other books which change rules, like the Broken Realms series which just started. So it can be a bit difficult at the start to figure out what’s going on, but once you are there it’s not that difficult to stay up to date.
