jeanfluflu
Hey everyone. It's been a long time but here's some progress on this very slow sculpting job. Working on the texture work and the scales, i've made some progress on the anatomy structure of the shoulders and added some volum to liiink the wings, it shoudln't be long before i sculpt them and add them to the model
jeanfluflu
i'm slowly progressing on this one, made some slicing to separate the different parts of the beast and did some early printing tests to see how it oges. After several tries and a bunch of unavoidable errrors due to mys really noob experience with 3D printer i got some things off. I think i'll push the teeth to give them more thickness and maybe enhace some of the face details as well. The result you see here is just the base head with a simple wash of guilliman flesh, the resin didn't offer a good view of the surface work so i primed it and put a bit of color to look at how these minor surface details could be seen. So far i'm really happy, beside some work i need to do on the support pieces it went very smoothly without much troubles and i'm really impatient to continue my sculpting job. Next step is to finish the body and add the saddle and secondary details so i can get a good idea of the type of pose i want to give him.

I'll buy myself some scenery and print them, it could do some excellent tests as well.
Vasshpit
Just my opinion but dont push the teeth to GW overdone standards. A LOT of their creatures couldnt actually even open or close their mouths to eat!😄 I get that it stylized but I do appreciate a bit of anatomical common sense. Again, looking great!!👍

Again, looking great!!👍 i wanted to push them a bit further (let's say 50% more in size) because i got some troubles to print them correctly. We can't see it here because there's nothing to compare it to but this dragon head is actually quite small for the amount of details represented. I'll take some pictures with a stormcast model to show you guys how it looks, thanks for the comment though Edited January 30, 2021 by jeanfluflu
jeanfluflu
Hey guys. stardrake is on paude right now so i decided to sculpt some orruks for my friends. We both hates the look of gore gruntas so i decided to create custom mounts for these dudes making something else. We hesitated betxeen some bear/wolf/hyena and a mini maw crusha and went for the second option. After some sketches for the posing of these 3 dudes i started to sculpt. They are not done yet, but since we had the orruk to put on them i've taken one of them and put it into pose to try to print it. Here's the goal And the potential final result, i'll make the print tomorow and we'll see how it goes. Then i'll finish the sculpting and make the 3 versions of these Edited March 31, 2021 by jeanfluflu 3

The Brotherhood of Necros
Incredible... I had no idea you could achieve so much detail with a 3D printer! I’m sure it helps that your artwork/designs are absolutely breathtaking, my friend. I have spent so long trying to convert a mini (my Lovecraftian character, the Fish Wife: https://www.instagram.com/p/CKzLl06HmBb/?igshid=1lm23n2zoke4v) to try and capture the image in my head when perhaps I should have been looking at this kind of solution instead! Your work is very inspiring and I’m looking forward to seeing more. 👏🏻
Vasshpit
Really cool stuff!!!!!😍 @jeanfluflu I'd be interested to se a combo of the two, the mammalian of the first coupled with the silhouette of the second, like a pitbull on steroids. Are you going to add plates and straps? The mouths on the gruntas are a huge no no for me as well. I dig the rest of their design minus the little horns though. Looking forward to more. Do you have a gallery or anything anywhere? Damn, I have got to get a printer!!
jeanfluflu
Here's a quick update for this one, i changed the pose to make him stand on rocks and other stuff so i can print him with the base (it allows for much better printing and i can adjust the size exactly how i want. As i did with the first one i brushed him with white while putting some shades to see if details are not too small (it is at the right format this time and i was afraid that some areas would be too small to see or paint). Some of them are and there's definitely some places i went too far but it ended up very nicely anyway. Here's some size comparison next to a dracoth so you can see how fine it is next to something. I have some sculpting job to do on the lower body and i'd like to put some leather straps and some other things to justify putting the orruk on top. jeanfluflu
The first dude is done guys! There's some printing to be done, i'll try that this evening and see how it goes, i'm pretty sure we'll need some sculpting job to correct things where the printer messed up but i'm happy with the result, i'll give you an update once i have something done! I'll make some other poses for the two other dudes as well :). 2

jeanfluflu
the printer is an elegoo mar pro, quite cheap and very good results. The issue i had was the exposure time, each layer of resin needs to be exposed at least 8 seconds, i put 10 to be sure. I had tons of failed attempts and wrong prints but in the end it is really worth it. Here's an update with the orruk on top, we sculpted some fur to make the connection between the beast and the greenskin rider and filled the gaps with milliput. Next step is to pose number 2 and 3 and do the same for these lads. Here's some sketches. 7
jeanfluflu
Hey everyone. The boyz are done, all the files are ready and printed and all we have tyo do now is to paint them and finish the bases. For thoses who would like to get some home made 3D printed Orruk mounts you can find them here:https://gum.co/QLEWD I wanted to give them for free but the website doesn't allow for free content when files are this big. Anyway it's cheap enough so you can get all of them for a very low price, feel free to give more if you feel you want to support my work. Also here's the 3 different poses you can get in this download: 3
jeanfluflu
Here's some progress on my stormcast army. I wanted to add a lord arcanum to the mix and since the miniature is really close from the evocators on dracoline i decided to paint this one as albinos so it can stand out with the rest of the army. 1
jeanfluflu
Hey everyone. Long time no see here. Lucky for me the upcoming new edition of the game has pushed me to continue and push forward my stardrake. With a bit of work i could finish him before the end of this week, here are some progress on the sculpt. I'll pose him with his wings closed (better for printing, sculpting AND transport) the pose should look something like this: Also i've decided that in order to finish him with the few bits of energy i have that i would leave some room on the base to glue a classical lord celestant (or even a conversion) instead of scrulpting a saddle and an ENTIRE stormcast character by myself. The base will get some steps, maybe a bit of broken architecture such as the one the Tauralon has on his base and we should be good to go :). Here's pictures of him: See you very soon for more updates!
jeanfluflu
And another quick progress on the wings sculpted details, scales and folds on the skin, i also remade the wing's shoulders to support this beast as well. The high amount of details would be great to paint it in an "inverted" kinda way. I'm currently painting my Idoneth leviadon, i'm having a more realistic approach on these big models and i think it could suit this dragon a lot: AKA little highlights, except on very specific areas (head, mouth and tooth) the rest is just gradients with contrast colors and some white paint in the cracks and gaps to make things pop out. I said "inverted" because usually i paint minis like most of us do: dark in recesses and highlithed in the raised areas, but for big models such as these i think i can let the volume speak a bit more and not try too much to "cheat" with it the way i do usually. Anyway, i'll continue on this the entire week, hoping to finish this for friday. Edited June 8, 2021 by jeanfluflu 2
