Season of War - Firestorm Allegiances Still Valid?

Kirby

Question

I noticed that my  FLGD still has a copy of Firestorm on the shelves.  So  looked into the Free City Allegiance Abilities.

Are these extra allegiances match play legal post CoS?

According to the Firestorm rulebook
“ when you organise your collection to be an army from a specific city or under the command of a specific warlord, it benefits from additional allegiance abilities ... This does not change their allegiance, and you can still pick other allegiance abilities for the army normally.

For example, if you had an army from Anvilguard that was made up entirely of Stormcast Eternals it could use the Anvilguard abilities and either the Order or Stormcast Eternals allegiance...” (Firestorm, p59)

Assuming, im not using CoS as my main allegiance, could i still claim to run Stormcast of Anvilgard, or Nighthaunt of the Wraithfleet for example?

Older allegiances arent mentioned in the GB, so im unsure when these rules expire(d).

Thanks

I think the mainproblem of Season of War - Firestorm is the Armystrength.

There was actually a Errata that changed the rule, so the Firestorm Armies can only be used with the Grand Alliance:

Quote

Page 55 – Season of War: Firestorm City &
Warlord Armies
Change the third and fourth paragraphs to:
‘When you organise your collection to be an army
from a specific city or under the command of a specific
warlord, you must use the Grand Alliance allegiance
abilities for your army, but you can also use the City &
Warlord allegiance abilities on the following pages. Any
units that do not have the keywords listed under the
Organisation for the army can be taken as allies if they
are part of the same Grand Alliance as the army.
For example, if you had an Anvilgard army made up
entirely of Stormcast Eternals, you would use the
Order allegiance abilities and the Anvilgard allegiance
abilities on page 60. If you later added Free Peoples
to your army, both they and the Stormcast Eternals
would use the Order and Anvilgard allegiance abilities.
However, if you wanted to include Daughters of
Khaine as part of the army, they would have to be taken
as allies.’

Your Stormcast Eternals of Anvilguard would use the Allegiance of Grand Alliance Order + the rule of the City in the campaign book.  You would get nothing from the Stormcast Eternals Allegiance.
