I really hope that both the goblin hewer and the slayer pirates will one day get a made to order. They are such awesome models its a shame they are so hard to get these days.

Yeah for once it would be cheaper to buy from made to order than second hand!

My pile of shame is too much to list. The 84ltr really useful boxes on the left are full of unbuilt kits and boxed games. I'd love to say all the KR cases are full of painted models. But sadly its around 50/50 split between grey plastic and fully painted. The upside of this lockdown period is that my hobby time has massively increased. 20200116_154628.jpg.176d95c776b8bb3e43cad1ed121edde1.jpg

Oh you've got Malakai's lawnmower! You lucky ******^^. It's going way to expensive on ebay, but I do not despair! One day maybe :).
You've also got the slayer pirates ? They're really cool models! I have none but I really like them in pictures.

What are the two white dwarfs you're talking about, navigator and film maker ? Never saw those!

Yeah got real lucky with that sucker. 30 bucks unbuild. Still keeping a half eye open for the slayer bezerkers with the chain axes. But The axe thrower is going to be the pride and joy of an conversion.

and the two white dwarfs. And As a filmmaker myself I’m super happy with the director one. The navigator is more to be part of my ironclad/KO conversion

 30 bucks That's almost free!

I really love that navigator. He would be great on a giant dwarf Zeppelin!

I think the only reason you’re not seeing more massive piles being posted in this thread by some of us is just because of the dissonance between having a giant pile of “shame” and wanting to confront the pile, picture it and post it on the internet. Props to everyone that does though!

@Snitchey and in one photo you've probably come close to "winning" the backlog competition ;) Though its really nice to see it all sorted and orderly like that. At least you can find stuff! Just think by the end of all this you could have made a serious dent in that mountain! :)

I don't know whether to be proud or ashamed? The worrying part is thats just the stuff in the garage. Theres a bit more in the house 🤫 I had to confront the backlog when I moved house 2 months ago. My wife was not impressed with the enormity of it, when she helped me move it. She insisted on a buying ban. I've no idea why 🤣

I normally find myself either cash or time poor and the last few years have been time poor hence the massive collection. I'm really enjoying getting to grips with it now. My biggest fear of the lockdown was not being able to get replacement paints and brushes, so any I was getting low on I ordered ASAP. Its amazing to see how every online retailer has been cleaned out of stock of everything!

Well everybody thinks it is shameful but honestly I don't. There is actually nothing shameful in owning a lot of not yet painted boxes. We all have different circumstances and honestly are we hurting anyone but our wallets with such piles of plastic minis waiting to be painted ?

So just think of it as a pile of fun to be had once you get the time or  chance to do it!

PS: At least, we're dedicated to GW with this much miniatures we bought from them :D

No no not at all.  Which is why I enjoy seeing everyone else's, but do not want to look at my own 😜

Part of the problem with taking pictures is that its rare to have a pile of future joy that is all stacked up neatly in one corner of a room. I think its far more usual to live surrounded by boxes and shelves, and tables, and trays of models. If I was to share all my work in progress I think I'd basically need to upload a 360 degree photo of my house and annotate it with arrows pointing to the various unfinished bits. A lot of my unpainted or party painted models are stored neatly in the same hobby cases as the painted ones, so its somewhat hard to judge how much is finished and how much isn't.

Mine used to be like that but moving home really focused me to sort it all out.  With the help of a ridiculous amount of really useful boxes 😁 I now have it all organised. Each box has an inventory so I know exactly what is in each one.

For me the hardest part of the hobby is staying focused on one project at a time. In the last 4 or 5 years there has been so many new 'shiny toys' (that I must own!) That I get distracted and start thinking / buying a future project. Then I lose focus with the army I'm painting.

The only one that I stuck with in the last year is Nighthaunt  which I painted nearly everything I own but with mortal realms offering a cheap expansion. I am now behind on those too.

Still got to be positive about all the hobby filled days I now have ahead of me.

I've had a spring clean to sort all my minis together, so I'll give a quick list of what's here

• Dropfleet Commander Kickstarter - About 750 points for the 4 original factions, about 2/3 built and primed

• Bretonnians - One of each of the Knight units, archers and one of each character apart from the King and green knight, all from 6th edition

• Chaos - metal knights, marauders, some warriors from the Hordes of Chaos time (6th edition?)

• Space Marines - Various plastic and metal marines from about 3rd edition

• Warcry - All starter box set built and primed, iron golems and untamed beasts WIP

• Mortal Realms magazine - working through these currently, 10 chainrasps complete and glaivewraiths WIP

• Nurgle - Pusgoyle blightlords and Lord of blights to be started, blightkings in WIP

• Ad Mech - 1 squad of skitarii, 1 magos dominus, 1 magos manipulus WIP and 1 squad of siciarans WIP, terrain to be built

• Tau - some plastic and metals from 3rd edition

• Small amount of metal Orcs and Goblins, and LotR metal figures

Should keep me busy for awhile!

So.....  I assemble most all models.   In the case of many, prime and base material is attached.

*Space Marine Shame about 20% painted of what you see.  At least 400 individual Marines need love.

Hidden on the shelves is about 10k or of Necrons about 20% painted.

Random stuff from my Gitz army, some Warcry, Adeptus Titanicus and even an AI model.

Also some significant forge world shame included in the mix (Warlord, Reaver, Knight Acastus, Sokar Stormbird)  Some partially built others still in the boxI added a pic of my painted Gitz to show I finger through some

I had the same here, but that stopped now that I work in shorter projects. That way I don't run into the inevitable destraction of something else and it helps limit my spending as well. But most importantly it keeps me excited about the hobby. Although I'm faling a bit into the trap right now.

So for example my stormcast army isn't one big project but they are all seperate projects. So between the sequitors and the vanguard hunters I painted 10 Ogors so I could play them. Now i'm painting character models for a narrative campaign and after that it's either two ironblasters as a project or Palladors.

That helps me so much to keep excited and finish things. And I also don't buy 1000pts in one go but one 'project' at a time. Unless its a very good deal.

This is everything for Age of Sigmar (On a queen size bed). The bins in the back are each filled nearly to the top with grey models

I feel less shame than most because I consider Built, not Painted, as Complete.

Lol! That listing is pretty nuts. I made a start by assembling and priming a SM Repulsor yesterday. I asked my wife if that means I'm off the buying ban. She wasn't amused.

I can't take pictures of the inside of all the KR cases as you lot will really think I'm taking the ******. If you count the KR cases as singles there is 41 cases full of models. I'm 42 yrs old and not a quick painter. I can manage between 70 -100 models per year fully finished. I don't think I can finish painting the entire collection even if I live to an old age. I'm going to have a bloody good go though. I absolutely love this hobby! I do live in hope that my son takes up the reigns and continues to work on my collection when it's his one day 😀

A large mix of Bones 4 Kickstarter,  Cthulhu Wars, 7 Sins: The Others, Planet Apocalypse and Black Rose.
Most of the Underworld warbands.
Tzeentch, Slaves to Darkness, Skaven, Stormcast, Death Guards, Space Marines, Flesh Eaters... and more.

But at least most of them are built and often primed.

Wow dude! This whole garage as a hobby base is great! I hope I can afford that one day (I might have to stop buying minis in order to :D )

What's the model of those Ikea furnitures ? It looks nice.
