zhevas
Hi, I'm starting AoS and bought the aether wars box set, so for now I got: -1 gunhauler -1 endrinmaster with dirigible suit -6 miniatures (can be mounted as skywardens or endringgers) I'm planning to buy an ironclad, so that would be around 1k points. I got some questions though: -What would be the best skyport so I can have both gunhauler and ironclad at 1k points, benefits airship playstyle and be quite easy to play for beginners? -Should I mount the 6 units as skywardens or endringers? What would be a standard setup? I'd like to priorize ships in the future, if that helps -What weapon should I have in my gunhauelr at 1k points? Wont have lot of miniatures as I plan to play mainly ships if that helps. Thanks in advance Edited February 12, 2020 by zhevas
zilberfrid
Your Edrinmaster has your battleline sorted, so that's no concern for you. The set is 220+150+100+100=570 pts, the Ironclad will not fit unless you bring only 3 riggers. You will be very light on bodies, so if I may make a suggestion, try to go for a Start Collecting instead of an Ironclad for 1k points, it is technically possible to go for an Ironclad, but it would be very hard to play, which doesn't fit the "easy to play" objective. AoS is an objective game, and it'll be next to impossible to score points with only 6 models on the table. Without the second Edrinrigger, it's 940 pts. You could buy a CP or Aether wings if you have them. Another option is Thundrik's Profiteers and a Frigate, bringing you up to 970 points. Build the riggers as riggers, they'll be more useful except in one skyport. Edited February 12, 2020 by zilberfrid

If I mount the 6 miniatures as riggers, what weapons should they carry? I know best is to have 2/3 with saws, but what about the other 1/3 ? Thanks

Thanks I would go for drill cannons, or volley guns if you verse a lot of Nighthaunt. I am not a specialist though, and someone with actual knowledge hopefully pops in. Thanks A bit late but I would say mount em with drills, don't get an ironclad. Ironclad is for 2k point games, as that is already a quarter of your points, in 1k it's a little ridiculous. In terms of easy to play you can really take whatever sky port you want, mostly it is battleline that they give that most build around, but you got that covered. If you get the start collecting then you have thunderers and another endrinmaster, so I would recommend taking the collapsible compartments to allow your entire force to be fast and keep up. Other than you foot master, but not much you can do about that I am afraid. I would say Barak Nar although not good has a very general skyport that isn't too bad in any way, and if your more of a strategist than you can also try Zilfin which gives you some nifty movement shenanigans.
