bonesaww666
I have indeed found the Mantic Kit to be really fun to work with, once I have some more work done on the others, I'll post them up here! My army started off with just one Mega to add on to my GSG's but its getting out of hand quickly, lol!
Lord Krungharr
Nice greenstuff work there! That looks like a great springboard model for many different megaGs. I'm half way done with my last megaG conversion. Next Friday is my first stomp with the SoBs. Not sure what I'll be fighting either. That makes it more fun! I also want to test how an all Stonehorn army (well, 5 plus 1 Huskard on Thundertusk) vs my SoBs and do opposite turns too to see how the going first changes things, since they are very similar in playstyle.
Lord Krungharr
In the home stretch! Got my Chaos stomp assembled and primed in a zenithal style. But not quite sure how to proceed with actual painting. I think perhaps thin layers of contrast paint and shades, then drybrush and stippling maybe? Going for a different look than my usual solid basecoat colors, shadewashes, bright highlights. Trying to be subtle and moody or something. Gotta nail my warpstone, amber beast magic, and fireglow effects though. Guess glow is the theme for their respective power sources. All Cygor bodies for the Mancrushers. Can't believe how many bits I went through. And He-Man's horse legs too (the only non GW bits in there). 4
Reuben Parker
This isn’t my stomp but just saw the video and the stomp is beautiful. Not seen it here but maybe it has been posted and I missed it. Well worth checking out.

Lord Krungharr
That super tall terrain is really cool and makes the table so much more dramatic. Gotta sculpt some of that, cuz buying terrain is too bloody expensive. I'm throwing down for my first game with the big guys: Breaker Tribe/ Bossy Pants/ Gatebreaker w portcullis and the extra wounds/2nd Gatebreaker/Krakeneater/ 1x3 Mancrushers....... vs my other big guys consisting of Bloodgullet Ogors/5 Stonehorns (2 Frostlords)/2 Slaughtermasters. Been wanting to try them too. Can the armor/ward save and healing and magic of the little beasties overcome the hugeness and extra wounds of the gargants? Place your bets! Lord Krungharr
Yeah, I got knocked down by the 2nd dose of vaccine yesterday. But maybe tomorrow I can get the game in. Still feverish today. I might play 2 games with reversed turn order of the first just to see what difference it makes. Game science

Lord Krungharr
My Chaos themed Sons of Behemat beat my Bloodgullet Stonehorns today. FLoSH/splattercleaver/nice drop FLoSH 3 SHBRs 2 Slaughtermasters vs Breaker Tribe (Bossy Pants) Gatebreaker/ Monstrously Tough/ Portcullis Gatebreaker Kraken-Eater 3 Mancrushers Battle for the pass, the giants let the Ogors go first. They moved up and scored 5 points staying as far back needed to score. Then the giants moved up with gate breakers on either side, kraken eater stayed in the center back by their own zone objective. 3 Mancrushers unit stayed near the General and helped kill a slaughtermaster near the mawpot in the center with boulder chucking. General gate breaker killed one frostlord Other gate breaker failed to do much to the frostlord General and was taken down to like 20 wounds by him and a fellow beastrider. Giants only scored 3 points turn 1. Giants got first turn round 2. Tried and failed to snipe the other slaughtermaster or do any damage to the the frostlord General with boulders. Kraken eater kicked that back objective towards the center but only 6” so it was still only worth 1 point cuz still in giant zone. Worth a try. He marched forth to help the Skaven gatebreaker. Ended up finishing off the frostlord General and Skaven mega took down the beastrider to 5 sounds. Gate breaker general finished off the other slaughtermaster and did a bit of damage to center beastrider. Mancrushers whooped the ****** out of the left beastrider. Giants scored 5 points that turn. Right beastrider managed to finish off the Skaven mega but then got finished off by kraken eater barely. General gate breaker narrowly survived and failed to kill the center beastrider. Packed it up as those Mancrushers and kraken eater were free for a turn three assault on the center beastrider even if they went second. Stonehorn durability only held so long. Scoring density of the giants is potent though they lack great armor or shrug saves. Boulder head would be better than bloodgullet. Slaughtermasters are there for the free buffs anyways and the healing of the splatter cleaver is limited. If the Stonehorns would have gotten the first charges it might have been different but I don’t think that much....or maybe a bunch?! Eurlbad would have helped I think; HoTT also may have been better but I guess prayers and cauldron pulls are both swingy , as is the frost breath attack. Oh yeah , and destroying the enemy Mawpot is pretty fun for giants. No soup for you!
Lord Krungharr
Is it worth having a Kraken-eater for a Breaker Tribe? The Fierce Loathings are only good for Gate-breakers and Mancrushers. Seems like the objective kicking is such a good trick, but is it really? I've only used my SoBs once yet, but maybe it'll come in more handy for other missions. Kraken-eater isn't nearly as smashy, and apparently he's an inch slower. Too full of seafood I guess 😛

Lord Krungharr
What's the favorite artefact for a Gatebreaker General? Portcullis seems decent enough for a 6++, I mean anything vs MW is welcome. But I'm almost leaning towards Chamon's Perfect Plate of of Protection for some anti rend-1. Also, for his Command Trait, Monstrously Tough or Extremely Bitter? I'm going with Bossy Pants tomorrow as hitting vs the support heroes is very key to making the little enemies more vulnerable. But having at least the General hitting also vs say Idiots with Flags might be a good way to go vs screen units. 5 extra wounds is pretty solid too though. Louder than Words seems possibly good too. Rage blade and +2 att trait is nice for 12 attacks with exploding 6s if you want to go pure damage dealing. for protection I prefer the shrug to the ignore rend 1. for all round I normally just go +2 att and 6+++
Reuben Parker
So early days as it’s only hints currently but AoS3 maybe great for SoB. even playing field for battalions and command points and a potential focus on heroic actions (often 3/4 of a SoB list are heroes). This also means SoB should virtually always win the deployment drops. smaller board makes it easier for a small footprint large hold value force to stay bunched up but holding multiple objectives. Will also be interesting to see if you can still “hack” battle plans by kicking objectives into enemy territory / no mans land. what may make or break it are points changes. If they do the 40k style smaller boards and -10% average list size it maybe troublesome for SoB. If we only lose our utility points though, the 50 to 80 points leftover currently then we lose far less than other armies (triumph / CP / Endless spell / 3 mancrushers as solos). Lord Krungharr
I got 3 games in this past weekend with my Breaker Tribe. Ended up using the portcullis and +2 attacks trait. The portcullis didn't work much, but the +2 attacks was excellent. Beat out a big Nurgle Daemon Tallyband, and my general (with the lucky reroll hit Triumph) one-shotted his GUO. It was Places of Arcane Power which is an awesome mission for the 3 MegaG armies I used the Krakeneater to kick an objective back to his Gnarlmaw trees so they wouldn't generate Contagion Points....which he needed to summon in more Heralds to score the objectives. Sniped out his Pusgoyle Lord early on. Big win there. Game 2 was Battle for the Pass vs Seraphon, with little heroes, 2x40 Saurus Warriors, some skinky units and 3 Salamanders. It was a nailbiter but I didn't realize how nasty those Salamanders were and they got rid of my 1 Gatebreaker way too early. Then in turn 4 they managed to get over to the other side and finish me off. Those Saurus guys with all the buffs hit on 2s, with extra attacks, and sometimes did MW on 6s. YIKES! Nasty little lizards. Good game. Game 3 was Better Part of Valour, the WORST mission for SoBs. That was Idoneth with 3 Eidolons and allied unit of like 40 Eternal Guard from Cities? Had a 2+ save turn 1?! Annoying. And I still had to target them with the rocks as they were the closest unit; Idoneth thing I guess. I foolishly decided to kick up the center objective, thinking then my Mancrushers can help kill all these puny things with clustered Megas. But then his Eidolons just hopped up after I cleaned up the Eternal Guard and wailed on my Mancrushers. They hung on til turn 4 I think. Had I held them back and split up my Megas to go after his 3 Battlelines separately I think I coulda had it. Oh well, another good tight game. Missions make a difference!
