Wondering about some battleline rules with a Clan Skryre General

Squeekit Claw

Question

So I've seen a number of lists with an arch-warlock or some other skryre hero as the general, and several blobs of clanrats as battleline. But I also read somewhere, that if your general is Skryre you can only take clanrats as allies? Anyone know?

Here's a few links to lists.

Well You can either choose to go mixed with the skaven or go full out on a clan.

If you are interested in having Stormfiends or acolytes as battleline, you’ll need a skryre or masterclan hero as the general, while also having only skryre units in your army.

Clanrats can not be taken if that’s the case, since they lack the skryre keyword, and skavenitde in total is not a ally option for a skaventide  army.

If you want to go a pure clan (e.g. Skryre), then the general has to be Skryre or Masterclan. And then all other units has to belong to that single clan. The good thing about it, is that it makes certain units battleline (Acolytes and Stormfiends for Clans Skryre).
While if you go mixed (i.e. Skaventide allegiance) then you can take any hero as your general. But then only clanrats and stormvermin can be used a battleline. But all other units can come from any clan.
