Dragon10
Hi I'm thinking of building this death army but I also want to enjoy games and be competitive. list I have started to put together is a soulblight list. vampire lord on dragon 440 vampire lord on steed 140 5 x blood knights 260 5 x blood Knights 260 5 x blood knights 260 20 x grave guard great weapons 320 3 x Varghiests 160 3 x Varghiests 160 the idea is to be fast and hard hitting and very mobile. i originally had another unit of Varghiests and no grave guard but I want a infantry unit for the look of the army, strange I know) is an elite army like this to vulnerable if I don't get first turn and/or against shooting armies please feel free to give honest feed back cheere
Dragon10
Am I allowed blood Knights as my battle line if I have grave guards in my list?

Your army must be 100% soulblight. However, you could summon the grave guard into the game later if you so desired. This army is vulnerable to armies that are faster than you. That can prevent you from getting the charge. I'd recommend trying to throw ina a Vamp lord on abyssal instead of the lord on stead.
Dragon10
Yeah fair enough good point i really do want some infantry in there for the look and feel of the army. how about something more traditional Manfred Montarch 460 Vampire Lord 140 Necromancer 120 Necromancer 120 40 x skeletons with spears 320 5 x blood knights 260 5 x blood knights 260 3 x Varghiests 160 3 x Varghiests 160 the idea would be to start the skeletons separate to make legal for match play and then join together. They would travel with vamp lord and necromancers to gain the bonuses and for necromancers spell to attack twice. Could also increase attacking ability with Manfred. blood Knights for flankers and Varghiests to take out shooters. for more understanding units I feel are a must, blood Knights and Varghiests and some sort of infantry. Any suggestiond
NoobhammerN8
Sorry to point this out, but the zombies are the only unit that can merge to form a bigger unit.

Dragon10
Ok so I think this will fix my problems. (Hopefully) neferata 440 vampire lord 140 (not sure what on) 30 x skeletons spears 240 10 x zombies 60 10 x zombies 60 5 x blood knights 240 5 x blood knights 240 3 x vargheists 160 3 x varghiests 160 3 x varghiests 160 1 x bat swarms 80 is the list getting any better? KhaosZand3r
I've recently realized that it isn't just about combos, but maneuvering as well. For example, the list before your current one looks solid for a pincer/enveloping maneuver. Tarpit with the skeletons, since you can keep bringing them back, then flank with the knights and fully engulf with the vargeists. The final list could of course do this as well. Dragon10
Yes but with this type of list the game plan is very obvious and if I can't tarpit the right units my skeletons could be left slowly marching around. ive been lost bashing all day I didn't think it would be this hard haha
Dragon10
Ok I have settled for a lost and let the purchasing, building and painting begin 1 x Vampire Lord on Dragon 440 1 x Vampire Lord on Abyssal Terror 220 1 x vampire Lord on steed 140 10 x skeletons sword and shield 80 10 x skeletons sword and shield 80 10 x skeletons sword and shield 80 3 x Varghiests 160 3 x Varghiests 160 3 x Varghiests 160 5 x Blood Knights 240 5 x Blood Knights 240 Total = 2,000 pts fast hitting moveable elite army. fingers crossed it works on the table. I wasn't aware that is how it works, so you're telling me I could summon on something like a mourngul and still have 2 units of bloodknights as battleline for a small game? You could even give one of your characters the sword of unholy power to make it a guarantee as without buffs the Mourgul being summoned on a 10 is far from a given.
