getting started with Warcry

Recommended Posts

I just got my hands on Warcry this weekend.

This time, instead of starting on the warbands, I've decided to start by painting the scenery.

And here's the result of this weekend:

Well, I threw out my back earlier this week, so painting stalled for a few days...

Still, I was able to continue a bit yesterday and started work on the statue (very much WIP, especially the bronze parts):

Nice! What paints are you using for those green-grey rocks?

Dawnstone, with a wash of Athonian camoshade.

Next drybrushed with administratum grey, and finally a drybrush with white scar on the upper edges.

The Undercoat I used for this was Chaos black with some corax white sprayed from above in short bursts.

Simple and effective, thanks!

Watch the Warhammer TV tutorial for it, looks like they got the steps straight from the guy that painted the official models like they did with the Sector Mechanicus tutorial. :) You could also tint it with a different color than green (I think they used Loren Forest with Lahmian Medium to tint it green) pretty easily, in case you want more blue-ish or let's say red stone.

First test model for the Untamed beasts  is finished (except for the basing). None too happy about it though. I might strip the paint and start over. But it'll do for the time being.
