Hey guys,

So with the new GHB dropping and the changes to the "special rule", am I right to assume that Ardboys with shields can only use one 6+ dpr now? I'm asking because I had heard somewhere that text written on the warscrolls themselves was unaffected and it was only the allegiance abilities that were.

So, I guess to make it as clear as possible: can Ardboys with shields, and with the right amount of Waaagh! points, use their 6+ to shrug off a wound and then use the 6+ save of Laugh at 'Em if they failed that first try? Or they can only use one and I need to choose.

They can't use both

In their GH20 review, THWG mentioned that the Rogue Idol may actually be 400 points, because another update came out afterwards that took him back down to 400 (from 420). 

The guest (Dispossessed Dan) took the view that although he hates Greenskinz (boo!), it is the most recent document, and therefore 400 is the valid points level.

Does anyone know what they were referring to, and what's your view on it?

That is true, but in the document itself, this line is above the list of points:

So even though it was uploaded after the release of GHB2020, it seems that the list of points haven't been updated since March 2020, which is then perhaps nullify the argument that the 400 supersceeds the 420.

yep the ghb states "updated profiles june 2020" so it should be 420 points, sadly

@Tizianolol bit of a late response but since nobody else has I'll throw in my 2cents. Quick note first, the footboss is 140 now so you're overcharging yourself.

Honestly I don't think ardboys compete with brutes anymore in standard IJ lists. Definitely not in big waaagh. The primary advantage ardboys always had was the fact they were so much harder to shift than brutes. The +2 bravery, 6++ save and better points per wound all added up to a solid block which was "almost" as good as brutes on the damage.

-10 points made brutes better points per wound than ardboys and that's without the +10 points hike on ardboys. In addition the damage difference, which slightly favoured brutes, is now much more pronounced. So you're losing +2 bravery/charge and the 6++ shields but gaining 50% more wounds and much better damage for 30points.

However. The most important change for big waaagh is that you can no longer roll multiple after saves on any wounds you take. So if you have the 12 waaagh point 6++ up the shields are now worthless.

With all that in mind I'd suggest dropping the extra CP and swapping to 10 brutes instead of 10 ardboys. Then shift metal rippers onto the cabbage (it's fricking amazing on him) and take the +1 bravery banner on your footboss to push the brutes to bravery 7.

My other option is to swap 5 brutes + weirdnob into 5 Ardboyz + Wurrgog prophet 

But HoG is too good to me, with the new meta we have to kill key hero and HoG is our main (only) option ! 

I'm thinking about arrowboyz instead of savage orruk maybe too

I am going to try Brutish Cunning and Gravesand Brooch. Though ignoring that extra rend might be more usefull.

I would try today vs Ogor Boulderhead, because the idea of a MK in 2+ ignoring -1 seems good on paper and I want to know if an Ironfist is enough

This is five drops. Close to 200 wounds. 70 models. No magic. Can Alpha. Not sure what Artifact to give the Warchanters. If I have to go first or second, that is fine by me. The extra Mighty Destroyers is to help get those boyz on to the objectives. Should have 20+ Waagh points by turn two.
