Spiderfang question

GlitzFan

Question

If 2 webspinner shamans on aracknarock are next to each other - does this ability stack?

Catchweb spidershrine:

"Add 1 to casting and unbinding rolls for
friendly Spiderfang Wizards while they
are within 12" of any friendly models with
this ability."

In fact instead of trying to game the system with this huge fallacy of an argument of App vs printed rules just submit the error on the app to GW and let them sort it out.

I contacted Adam about the ruledifference between App and Battletome, so I think it will be corrected soon.

There is a deeper level to this issue.

In the smartphone app, they have mistakenly included several old pre-battletome abilities in the warscroll, including the pre-battletome wording of the bonus to cast that specifically would stack ("+1 while within 12" of this model", not the non-stacking "+1 while within 12" of any model with this ability").  I know, you always use the newest warscroll, so you use the one in the battletome, right?  But wait.  The one with the errors in it in the app is very specifically date stamped June 2019, which is newer than the battletome.  So, as the rules for old warscrolls very explicitly call out that warscrolls with a newer datestamp always over-ride previous warscrolls, this warscroll with copy-paste errors from the previous scroll is actually the current one.

Normally Appversion of the Warscroll and Printed Version + Errata should be the same. If both are different, Printed Version Warscroll + Errata should take preference over the App because the App is basicly a third party product.

The app is poorly maintained... official or not. This is the app that for a few weeks at the start of 2.0 had given ogres the most overpowered ability to hit anything with 44” reach weapons.

The printed warscroll for the model on the Games Workshop Website use the words  “Any within 12” “

I would call that the most recent printed version of the warscroll even if there is no date on it. There is nothing listed in the errata to make such a change to claim that the app overrides the battletome nor the Website printed rules.

In fact instead of trying to game the system with this huge fallacy of an argument of App vs printed rules just submit the error on the app to GW and let them sort it out.
