Hey DoK haven't had any shiny spells or terrain and have done just fine for all of 2.0 so far ;) It's not the end of the world. Though I appreciate the lack of new shiny toys is a dissapointment.

Still you DO Get a new leader in a nice starter duel set. Plus you can put your army on the table now and not auto lose!

So, after mid january, only ONE missing battletome ? That leaves some space for many things during a whole year of 2020 😎🤪👍

The difference is, there is an expectation of DoK, IDK, Nurgle and LoN being at the bottom of the pile as far as updates go, as they had releases just prior to Age of Sigmar 2.0, and are all pretty functional as the game stands (or even still very strong if one talks about Daughters). A faction like the Overlords was released, then in short order nerfed into the ground and then, a year later, almost completely superceded in terms of game design. To then get none of the extra toys a lot of the other factions got is... well, it doesn't look good.

My one and only fear is that GW adds more armies and adds too many armies - I really hope for a semi long period of updating AoS armies even if it just means replacing sculpts with new versions and the odd new model here and there.

That said GW might focus back on to 40K or who knows what else. The 1st of January event should let us know more.

In terms of armies, going from Whitefang's info, it seems we can at least expect the Hysh elves and the all giants faction. Then going off the many other hints, we are still missing the Grotbag Scuttlers  (who are already named and have lore) and the Shadow Elves who seem to be a given as that realm is still very mysterious. That's four new armies alone, not counting anything out of left field that didn't have a lot of established lore or only tiny hints like the Bonereapers. Not sure if we'd see all of those next year, but I think we'd at least see the elves and giants.

Judging from the preview picture, the Navigator got +3" range and +1 to-wound on their pistol. Hopefully that isnt the only buffs he got.

I’m actually really pleased that KO don’t appear to be getting endless spells - Duardin don’t cast spells! Khorne never should have got them either.

I’m not a KO collector though so I can still see how it might sting a little.

KO could easily get short term tech that works like a spell. Drop-pod mech - a powerful mech that runs on a short term engine that burns out after so long. Dropped from a fearsome height by a high flying specialist airship so that the mechanical monster is delivered right into the heart of battle where its needed most.

Backed up with insect repair swarms; little wind-up robotical insects of insane design quality from the Age of Myth. A rare and expensive creation that can repair most of the KO units and machinery; patching them up to full health. They can't bring the dead back, but they can at least keep the living alive.

There's an owl thing right in the cover of the KO thome, that should mean something at least.

You don't want scenery. It's a pain in the ****** to take to shops and clubs, it isn't as fun to paint as normal models and it adds a mandatory monetary cost to your army. Also most (admittedly not all) faction endless spells aren't great rules wise.

Dice are a nice collection item, so I can see that as frustrating. Did they get dice at the previous release?

At the end of the day the only thing that matters is if the rules are good. Then you can finally enjoy your army.

No dice last time.

It's more the frustrating irregularity of it. Why do Fyreslayers get terrain and not Tzeentch? Why do Blades of Khorne get endless spells and not Orruks? Why do Hedonites of Slaanesh get a new unit range while Skaven get one model? Why do Mawtribes get dice and not Kharadron Overlords?

I am with karadron players, seems odd that almost everyone get endless spells and\or terain but some not.

But think that allways can be worse, karadrons got one new hero thats better than city of sigmar armys that got 0 new units,no terain,no endless spells and got deleted as 10+ units.

Kharadron overlord players should he overwhelmingly delighted with this release. My empire/freeguild army of over a decade is slowly being pulled apart and chopped into pieces by GW and they don't even have the decency to update a single part of the army.

For the time being kharadron aren't going to be squatted at least. My army faces oblivion in the very near future. So yes kharadron players rejoyce your army isn't a walking corpse of disinterest and compromise quite yet.

Continue having slow sales and very poor tabletop and tournament representation and we shall see though.

Not a single part of your empire army was in Cities of Sigmar?

That's because KO are a real aos army whereas freeguild are leftovers. Anyone playing those left over armies should be grateful they are supported at all.

I'm tickled by the image of the new Magister zipping around, turning KO in to Chaos Spawns that plummet to the ground Wile E. Coyote style 😂!

The rhyme and reason to it is simple. Does a designer have a cool concept. GW works model first. So no cool model means no forcing of the rules. And all the better for it.

If GW don´t lock the endless spells behind the 'disciples of tzeentch' alligience or keyword, than STD have access to thoose spells if using a Sorcerer with the Mark of Tzeentch. Which is quite a cool addition in my opinion. Otherwise an ally is needed, which isn´t a big hurt anyway. I hope GW keeps the book to go for TZEENTCH Units and not for DICIPLES OF TZEENTCH Units
