The Rumour Thread

If I was a betting man (I’m not as rubbish at it), I would guess the following....

1) Sons of Behemat will be the next AOS release as I believe it was shipped earlier this year

2) it’s going to be 40k for more weeks now. Box unveiling this weekend and guessing up for preorder the weekend after (20th June). Also guessing two week period for this as well due to most of their new editions happen in July and lots of people in UK typically get paid at the end of the month (so hoping for June pay check burning hole in people’s pocket).

I think the issue is the logistics as 40k is their flagship product and they would have put a lot of resource and planning into it. AOS will have its moment and I’m sure there’s lots of special things on the way

Sons of Behemat would be the easiest as well as they could drop the entire range in one go.

My only annoyance is the lack of any Forgeworld news. The AoS being later than desired is fine, we know its coming its more a question of when. I guess we also know that FW should return, though one would think the when would at least be something GW could share with us.

I also thought that this sunday would be the day, but after it wasn't I think next week will really be the day because the June 26th is the official release date of the White Dwarf after they rescheduled it. So those people that hadn't there WD already will most likely get the Battletome and Miniatures for Lumineth Realmlords + the White Dwarf rules for Warcry for them (which was most likely the decision for rescheduling the White Dwarf in the first place.

And People were basicly waiting for Deadly Alliance since last week of March because without Corona, Pre-Order would have been on March 28th for that box while I can only guess that the Lumineth Realmlords would most likely have there release about May 22nd (maybe the boxset in April) because of the White Dwarf Article.

When was the last AoS Forgeworld news?

Except removing stuff from sale, but that didn't get any articles or warning.

A long long time ago - in fact the only AoS FW news has been the new stormcast heads and that's about it :(

Sadly that christmas strip of models took most of the ones I wanted for AoS - the magmadragon (I just needed an army to own one); the warpfire dragon (had one wanted a second); the wolfrats (poor ratties). I'm still after the Exalted Slaanesh Keeper of Secrets though she's a bit safer as she's also in 40K and 30K (though perhaps a bit more at risk since the new GW versions are of the same size).

Right now I've my eye on Tyranids - I'm after one of the Hierodule (probably the scythed version first) and likely a second Malanthrope. I've also an eye on Eldar and Necron stuff, but that's a long way off and 40K wise I really want to get my Tyranids in some kind of decent state.

It almost feels like they forgot they haven't released Lumineth yet

To be fair all of the 40k stuff they're releasing was probably slated to release before Lumineth and Sons. Seems like the releases are coming quick though as they try to catch up.

Unfortunately I disagree. So far it looks like a standard release schedule rather than rushing to get everything out that’s been sitting in the warehouse ready for release these past months. Expect a lot of things to be delayed, especially because they won’t be delaying 40k 9th edition. Anything not 40k related is unlikely to release before 40k 9th at this rate, all the 40k releases need to be out before 9th as the rumoured Necrons and Space Marines codex will invalidate a lot of stuff before it’s even out. GW has a LOT of things that should have been out before now and I expected them to at least double up each preorder cycle to fit as much as they could (ie elves and giants same week, necromunda, warcry, underworlds and bloodbowl could have all been one week etc)

I know a lot of people is waiting for the Lumineth, but the release of the next GH is necessary, a lot of armies needs to be fixed and others needs to be updated like they do before. Battleplans, Realms and artifacts rules... We need new content that is only possible with a GH.

They are dealing with two month's lost production AND more people buying their stuff (to have something to do in lockdown). Even restarting a regular release cycle will be hard.

Are there any Books/Tomes in the work that have not been officially announced (outside DoK and GHB20)?

A new DoK book is not announced and we don't know if it is in development. The same happens with the rumours without any weight of the Slaanesh mortals or the Campaign book of the Siege of Azyr.

The only books are Lumineth and Sons of Behemat. We can hope we will see the GH20 soon, but with the covid-19 and the launchment of W40k new edition is very possible that it is the only AoS releases we are gonna see this year.

Is it the bad moon that also told you so ? ;)

Something going on with Gordrakk laying siege to Excelsis (not Azyr) is absolutely confirmed in the fluff. The way GW works, aka dropping hints to build toward advancing the narrative arc, means that there will be a book or a supplement about this event, the same way Lumineth or Wrath of the Everchosen were teased before release.

The rumor of DoK vs Slaanesh Mortals, that is yet unconfirmed. But between rumor engines and existing release patterns (like GW updating old, AOS1-era Battletomes), it's quite likely will see something for DoK at least soon (not counting the already revealed Beastgrave and Warcry warbands).

I’m worried I might get fed to Igniax for this but I for one am relived that there aren’t any AoS releases right now. Finally, I can just relax, work on my back-log, get some older stuff that I’ve really wanted, like books and what not. Each time GW releases something fresh for AoS my wallets start bleeding.

I'm currently of a different mind on the matter, but I get where you're coming from. In the past I've certainly felt overwhelmed by the volume of product releases.

It should be noted that I’m an incredibly slow hobbyist. At the same time I’m also of the “Play only painted” mindset so that’s convenient... I also take like maybe a 3-4 month long AoS break each year and when that’s over I always have some serious catching up to do.

I couldn't agree more. I actually long ago gave up on the idea of trying to get new things on release. I'll occasionally break that resolution when something is a limited edition, but for general releases, there is genuinely no reason to rush out and get things on release. We often worry about things being squatted or having kits discontinued, or rules changes that will render them less good. But the brand new stuff is least at risk of any of that. They will most likely stock Lumineth for a decade or more, and it will take a while for errata to come through and the rules to settle down anyway. In my opinion its much better to wait for Battleforces and Start Collecting sets a year or so down the line, than to rush out on day one and try to buy a massive new army just because its new.

It generally takes me a while to paint up a new army anyway, so I kind of figure, if I wouldn't have finished it immediately, then why do I need to buy it immediately.

Let the hype pass over you, and around you. Once its gone, you can make a more reasoned and informed decision about whether you want the new shinyness. Its entirely possible you will still want it, but ultimately nothing is spoiling.

Overall I'm far more likely to impulse buy stuff thats going out of stock, or which I'm not sure I'll be able to get again. That's where they get me.

Da Bad Moon only speaks with the real rulerz... 😔

If the next week they announce Pariah and another Specialist Game release content... I think all about AoS was delayed after the 40k hype train will vanishes. 🙄
