I guess at the least it means a named kos. Would be amazing if it meant another couple of units though. But either way, it’s pretty sweet.

Curiously the only new non-hero model that has been reveal for the whole release was that mirror unit with the two Daemonette on it (unless that happen to be a hero too). everything else so far has been either new heroes or plastic version of older models in the Slaanesh range

As I was trolling through the AoS facebook page trying to see if the community folks would give away if mortals were coming out, someone asked about using the KoS kit to make N'Kari and the official AoS community managers 'liked' that post.  So..maybe there is chance for that?

That’d be cool! Might be a completely new character like rotigus though 🤷🏻‍♂️

I'd be shocked if there wasn't a special character build for the KoS. They've got a band to complete there.

But I wouldn't bet on it being N'kari. Both Rotigus was a complete unknown. I'm not entirely sure when Scarbrand cropped up, I think he spend some time with rules but no model? Either way, there where far more established Bloodthirster around, like Ka'Bandha, when he was first introduced as well.

 

All in all they seem to go for a appearance distinct from other Greater Daemons of their kind for the SCs and N'kari was always described as a rather generic KoS in appearance. Does carry a fancy stick, iirc, but that hardly competes with torn of wings, two heads or a face growing out of an arm for the recognition value.

To clarify the FW situation.  The AoS & 40k Forge World Teams no longer exist.  The rules for FW units will now be done by the relevant teams - hopefully allowing those models to become more inline with new battletomes and concepts (we've already seen this in action with the Gloomspite changes).

The stance for as long as I can recall is that Forge World miniatures will (for the foreseeable) not be put into the Generals Handbook because they're a "specialist" product and not available from retailers outside GW - at one point you couldn't even get them shipped into store (not sure if this is still the case though).

On the FW topic, the yearly survey is coming out soon. If you feel FW models should receive better support in the GHB, maybe that is a good spot to argue it.

I would personally like a bit more support at least in the GHB19, updated warscrolls at the same time as the battletomes and come on, there are like 8 models can be used only on a GA destruction and one on a GA order... Monsters of chaos save themselves because they can be allied, but they can’t be used in BoC yet...

forgeworld range is meant to be entirely revamped rules wise it was mentioned eariler on in the year, under the new leader of it or something. shouldn't be massively long

I do think the rules for Forge World stuff are a tricky thing to get right. Too good, and they're a must-have, which I think isn't ideal for models that are a) very expensive, b) much more difficult to build and c) much harder to get hold of. Too bad, and no one's going to want them. 

For me personally, I'm not sure FW models should really have much of a place in Matched play. They seem ideal for Narrative and Open, where it doesn't matter how competitive or balanced they are. I was actually ok with the old GW rules where they were essentially unofficial for the purposes of tournaments etc - but I realise that doesn't suit everyone. 

But then, for me personally, I just don't like FW's sculpts these days. It feels like in the last decade or so, GW has made all these huge leaps forward with how they make models, and FW is just the same as it ever was. A lot of their recent Horus Heresy models are just straight up bad by modern standards (those White Scars... shudder), not to mention those dreadful Stormcast heads. That's just my opinion anyway.

Well Black Library just released a novel for Neferata & Vampires. That plus Warcry having what is probably/hopefully the Von Carstein/Vampire symbol we'll be getting some Soulblight stuff soon (but that is my simple wishlisting)

All the other AoS Christmas army bundles are out of stock and gone from the GW Webstore in the UK. I'm sure Slaves has only hung on longer because it hasn't got a Battletome. You can bet if one were announced the stock of that set would vanish fast. Heck Wrath and Rapture is starting to sell out in places fast (Wayland had 7 sets on saturday and 0 on sunday)

Wait really? That’s an FEC symbol? Holy moly that sounds awesome, I’d love more new sculpts for FEC. Then what’s the flaming skull supposed to be? Nighthaunt? Also what are the Order symbols? Anyone has any idea what they are, excluding the thunderbolt because obviously that’s Sigmar

Also ghys, I seriously believe that the 2 rumor engine photos, earwig bum bum and the wing that everyone thought was either FEC or vespid wing is gonna be in looncurse, the flying earwig (my worst nightmare...) looks like it will be a familiar attached o a hero, similar to the cute grub guy on the branchwych, so likely a new hero? Maybe a new remade scenery for sylvaneth? 

For Gloomspite Gitz, I feel like they will update old models, such as loonboss on/and cave squig, and maybe madcap Shaman; it’s unlikely they’ll add new warscrolls

Also lads, I feel that after looking at the chaos god specific releases, I think for Slaanesh, it could go a bunch of ways;

Like Nurgle, get maybe 1 mortal kit and a bunch of mortal heroes, but be more focused towards daemons

or like Khorne, with less emphasis on Daemons, significantly more focus on mortals

then tzeentch, which is somewhat more balanced

already that Slaanesh daemon Prince sounds like a named dude to me

personally I feel that the future incoming Tzeentch update will come with updated models, like fatemaster and blue scribes. 

I feel like all this is leading up to an updated 40k chaos daemon codex including rules for terrain, new units, and updated models for ALL the chaos Gods, so I feel like they’ll use AOS to introduce them first. Heck even Nurgle when he gets his endless Spells, might just get a new epidemius model
