I'm not even sure the ogre one is entirely new, I vaguely remember some mention of an SC box with a new hero or butcher or something. Might have been a chan scrap.

Remember hearing that one before too.

Edit - yep, from June:

I looked at warcom at a time my phone thought I should have been sleeping so my screen was greyscale. Space marines without colour are almost devoid entirely of distinguishing marks. Sure, a headswap now and then and a new symbol, but it's quite a waste of resources for new sprues.

Dawnbringers as a seperate faction close to Cities would be very bad (probably ending cities relatively close after that), and I'm not ready to accept that just yet as likely.

Banking on Umbraneth/Ulgu Aelves is a pretty safe bet as Malerion will sooner or later get an army of their own. I'd also expect Dawnbringers to be a part of CoS - maybe like Witch Hunters/Zealots of old - rather than a new army. But the rumour DOES promise Chorfs so guess I have to hope its true 😉

(Although I think 'Furnace Kings' sounds way cooler than 'Oathbreakers', as the latter sounds like what a vanilla!Duardin would call my sweet evil masterminds rather than their own name - Furnace Kings sounds what they would call themselves!)

Reading Black Pyramid. There are Furnace Kings references there!!

From a kits/update perspective, it's unfortunate that the craftworld eldar range is based around about eight very distinct looking kinds of specialist warrior, each needing their own kits and with minimal crossover visually (though forum arguments about which aspects could be combined in a kit go back decades).

A testament to Jes Goodwin's creativity, I guess. You can see in AoS and 40k how they're tried to avoid that situation coming up again.

It's obviously total nonsense because the Lumineth release was not disrupted by covid in the way that post claims. The initial release and initial book was written and printed long before lockdowns started to happen.

The small first release and a second bigger one a year later was ALWAYS intended; the only thing covid did was lessen the time between them since that first release got delayed.

Also, with regards to Craftworlds they need far more than that.

I see more people put off by the old Guardian sculpts and the terrible DA box than resin warp spiders. The army cannot continue on with all of it's 4 core troops choices being ancient 16+ year sculpts or finecast. It's actively poison for an army to draw in new players. It doesn't matter that some of those are plastic; Necron Warriors and Ork Boyz were newer than Guardians and still got updated.

This also of course ignores things like the Avatar, Warlocks, lack of customizable foot Autarchs, Autarch on jetbike etc

Do you think White Dwarf will go digital only in the near future?
Heard GW tried that before but then moved back to print...

I'm an avid fan of the magazine but only read it in print because even with the best tablet (anyone still uses those?) or monitor, the digital version would still be a worse experience IMO. Honestly I love bringing a copy or 2 along when traveling and reading it in the nature or at the beach and such. If it would go only digital it'd be quite sad for me, I'd probably stop reading it every month as I currently do.

As a WH+ subscriber (no AoS content sucks, boooooo, I know) I have not consulted much in the Vault for the same reason: despite the amazing trove of stuff they upload there, I find looking at beautifully painted miniatures and art much nicer on print. Also a lot of people (me included) spend already a lot of time in front of monitors for work or study ... I get watching videos and animations, but reading whole books, magazines and such would take too much on-screen time IMO.

No. Not in the near future (few years). Lots of people like it in the format it’s in and it’s a great way to get new people introduced to Games Workshop games and miniatures. I fully expect it to happen in next 10 years but that will be more across the magazine industry as well.

Thanks for the reply!
I may have already heard that 10-15 years ago...

Whenever it may happen, let's hope they'll at least keep the print option available! :D

No problem and yes it’s been around for years that printed books/magazines will go. They will at some point but culturally people like physical printed things.

Anyway back to rumours….

As it’s October in a few days and the mess the UK is getting into, I suspect AOS wise we will just see the rest of the Stormcast releases, big sets for Christmas and maybe Warhammer Underworlds. I’m hoping we will see a preview show at some point closer to the end of the year.

Nice commentary on the latest rumors from Cinderfall - narrative spolier at the end which is really really cool if true.

Watching that video with subtitles, and so far google's close captioning has transcribed "Beasts of Chaos" as  "Booster Cows", and that alone has made it worth watching to be honest.

So here’s my thoughts:

the rumoured Gloomspite Gitz vs Beasts Of Chaos box, I very much doubt because of how ‘recent’ the current Bullgors are and I just don’t see them getting updated. However, the plastic Doombull? Yes I could see that. Additionally, I think the Jabbersythe makes no sense in the context of that box
