Speculation/cynicism. There's been a lot of unsolved Rumour Engines pointing to Death models. Usually a 'hodgepodge' implies a Quest release such as all those different Imperial parts which turned out to be the BSF crew. There's also the Vampire Hunter who's a very odd-one-out in that the stakes imply a far more specialist role than a generic Witch Hunter and such a character would fit a Quest game - Warcry is about Chaos turf, Underworlds has none of this year's symbols fitting something CoS/Order of Azyr. However recently they all-but-confirmed Soulblight and Ossiarch Underworld warbands so they could be for those and it could just be the Maritime Death for AoS (whatever they turn out to be) and then the Underworlds warbands. February is usually when they reveal their spin-off games at the New York Toy Faire and although it's only January, we'd be at the tail end of it, so the dates aren't that out of whack. Enoby Posted January 18, 2021 Share Posted January 18, 2021 I'm not sure if it will or won't be a new army or not, but I do remember the Slaanesh warband being revealed in one of these events before the other mortals were revealed, so it's not totally out of the way for it to be 'just' a warband reveal, but similarly that doesn't mean it'll be the end of similar releases. I'm not sure either way, just not sure how likely it is to get an army reveal before the last reveal has been released and likely well before the full army reveal will materialise into a buyable army. They won't show everything upfront, but it's not odd at all. Hedonites have been fully revealed now, and the only other things on the horizon besides Death seems to be just the new Lumineth models and whatever the Witch Hunter model is for. That would probably be a super fun little side project. But LoN also desparately needs a rework. They could do the reveal like they did with Hedonites, where we knew about the Lord of Pain and the Dread Pageant for a while before it was made clear that there would be an army release/new battletome. Lucentia Posted January 18, 2021 Share Posted January 18, 2021 (edited) If my memory still serves at all it may be worth noting that the Silver Tower quest game was released before the first Disciples of Tzeentch battletome but was the first place we saw miniatures for Tzaangors and Kairic Acolytes. Granted that was back in the early days of AoS and releases tend to be a little different nowadays, but a death themed warhammer quest would not necessarily prevent a larger faction release later on. So AOS being first seems to pattern that it'll be the 'main' reveal - so I'd call that the undead faction is going to release in AOS and not Quest. 40k - SoB / Priesty Bois Kill Team - they've teased a new edition of that game for months now, be nice to see something. New starter box? Titanicus - I have no idea, I don't play or follow the tiny versions of big robot game Underworlds - the Vampire warband is a given. Possibly a tease at what those three next bands are? ? - Warhammer Quest is a 75% here, unless the madlads are launching another specialist game? Lord of the Rings spin off? Would probably put money on something akin to Underworlds in 40k - small boxes of models, card based gameplay. It's made me buy a box to satisfy an itch that's made me spend hundreds on armies - new intro product?
