@LuminethMagethank you for the feedback !

My friend told me about a Fox-like elemental for the Wind Temple ?! Pretty cool if true.

I think the map of Ymettrica (I've seen it on YouTube review IIRC)  wasn't shown on Warhammer Community, only the maps and artworks of Hysh (and Ulgu) :

Maybe they'll left the wider social structure etc. explanation for the Realm-Lord novel or the Soulbound RPG ? There will be Lumineth Archetypes in the next SB expansion.

Yes, a named fox spirit is mentioned, along with cloud riding mages and other units. Cool stuff!

The Ymetrica map was shown here, not a close up, but : ) https://www.warhammer-community.com/2020/06/15/lumineth-realm-lords-whats-in-the-army-setgw-homepage-post-2/

I'm really looking forward to the Lumineth part in the Champions of Order supplement for Soulbound. When Emmet first talked about it on the discord it sounded like the Lumineth get a full introduction like the other factions in the core book - so maybe there is at least a bit more in it in that respect. I doubt though it will be that much. Over time I'm sure will see more in novels etc. Good thing about not getting it all in the BT is - you have a lot to look forward to and be excited.

For those worrying about whether the new lumineth dice will roll well... These aren't just some crazy idea GW have come up with, "long" dice sometimes called cylindrical or barrel dice have been in use for centuries if not longer. Before plastic was invented they were a much easier way of making dice sizes which require the more complex polyhedral shapes to make as platonic solids. They have definite advantages as d4s and for dice with odd numbers of sides.

you don't throw them in quite the same way, its more of a roll. But suffice to say they will be as good as any mass produced plastic die which isn't made to casino standards.

Recently I was going through my old Codex for Tyranids - early ones had hardly any real meat on the lore. It's not acutally in recently that we start getting 100 pages of lore alone. I got the Escher book recently and its the same, only a smaller number of pages. I figure that give it 10-20 years and we'll granular growth in AoS.

Steady establishing of themes and ideas that stick.

Yeah I noticed between the first Kharadron book and the second they have started to add in more lore and descriptions- the setting generally is getting deeper and more established and this will only improve as they go forward.

A fox spirit could be very cool.. I could be tempted in the future.. will we get fox elites too I wonder.. might fit in with my Kurnothi war band I'm building..

I dreamed today that the Sons of Behemat will be launched with the second wave of Lumineth.

My guess for the pre-order date of Sons of Behemat is 10th October 2020 because it is the preorder-date of the Sons of Behemat Audiodrama.

(At least it has worked with the Realmlords because of the Novel Release.)

I believe this to be the date as well, my fingers are just crossed for September in case.

I‘d like a fox spirit, yet most of the LRL lore and Models are way TOO much trash-Chinese-Kung-Foo movie for my taste...

Bovines might be closer to Indian influences. That said our understanding of other cultures is often not always the best. Certain themes tend to come across more so than others so it might well be that there are asian bovine influences that we are just not as aware of because they are more obscure or just not as popular today.

One thing GW has always had (even, if with a lesser extent, in Old World) is that because the game is not a faithful translation of real world settings/themes into fantasy; they can pick and choose.

I’m not one to wishlist, but now that The Lumineth are being released I find myself wishing for a high elf ‘made to order’ run. I would love to get my hands on some 6th edition Phoenix guard.
If made to order also does plastic then it would be really nice to get the opportunity order some of the discontinued high elf kits.

Chinese ox mythology is specialized on water buffalo which is the main farming animal for over thousands years rather than mountain bovine which reminds me of Tibetan yak

It‘s about the cow, not what cow it is. Stolen from reality and changed a little.

Edit: OFC it is not stolen 1:1

also

According to a widespread Gansu province myth, earthquakes have their origin in the annoyed shrugging of the ox which bears the earth on its back (Yang, 2005: 178).“

sounds a hell lot like the whole Battle Cattle mountain on back theme.

They both belong to Bovine but the meaning and the cultural representation behind them vary a lot. They don’t even look similar.

Even in the west cows were the primary form of transport and agricultural power for many years. It was only more recently that draft horses came to dominate the scene. However I think that they came at just the right time to get preserved through so much media that we connect farmwork with draft horses rather than cattle.

If the £105 for Teclis is true that would make him the most expensive AOS model (without Forgeworld of course) and I can't see a reason why he should take that place, unless there will be another price hike and that's just future proofing

What does this have to do with anything? 🤨

Guess what

one of the most famous bovine in Gansu is the Tibetan WHITE YAK

However, an unexpected discovery is that the “earthquake cow” thing does exist but is a very modern thing which gets often seen in Taiwan...
