The Rumour Thread

Good for them closing and looking after their staff, while we're all eager to get our hands on their latest shiny toys, the well being of all the staff is by far more important.

I've no doubt they will have planned for this and while everyone can moan like a nighthaunt kicked out of tomb sometimes, the hobby community is a overall positive one and we'll all get through this. I'm looking forward to seeing all the cool stuff people get up working through their piles of shame!!

I'm glad they're looking after their staff but man am I kicking myself for putting off going out and grabbing some boxes while I had the chance. Is there any word on whether or not they'll still be updating the community site? I'm chomping at the bit for the reveals they had planned for adeptacon.

They have stated they will continue updating Warhammer Community. Hopefully they still reveal their full schedule they had planned for Adepticon, though I would understand if they held off on some things now to slowly spread it out more. I'd rather them not...but I'd understand.

GW was bound to close, sorry guys and girls, but our tiny plastic armies fall under the non-essential category.  I hope they still reveal a ton this Saturday, but understand their release schedule might get pushed wayyy back because of all this.

Somewhere out there is one person who has been waiting 20 years for Zoat model only to have it snatched away when it was so close.....

ME.

I may have basically  lost my job to all this but frankly this was the really the point when this whole ****** crisis got too personal... Tempted to go full Liam Neeson in 'Taken', retrain as a scientist and dedicate the rest of my life to hunting down and eradicating coronavirii wherever they raise their ugly genomes.

I mean I'm sure in reality I'll just go back to writing about music most people have no interest in but you have to dream...

I believe it's up to 80% of the wage in the UK can be paid.

Unfortunately. only if you are big business or work for one.  Those of us who are self-employed have been hung out to dry by our government.  It has come as no surprise given who's running it.

The current situation + this new article about Kislev Ice Guard (which look more like AOS to me than anything WFB) has me thinking: what is GW planning on doing? Should the Old World even be something they pour tons of resources into now? How many 30k models are applicable to 40k? Even before the pandemic problems, higher production wasn't going to remain stable or sustainable for long. It makes me a bit worried for what GW will be able to actually do for all of their games in the future.

I'm sorry to hear mate. Hopefully this passes sooner now because of the Lockdown and things can pick up again.

The Old World is generating quite a bit through videogames, in contrast to Horus Heresy. Sharing design cost of units with CA seems like a good thing to do, and giving people that want the Total War game to be a bit more tangible also seems like good business.

Miniature painting is quite a good hobby if we wish to keep infection rates down, and not that expensive per hour of hobby time. Sure, loads of hobbies are cheaper, but my fencing about triple to quadriple the cost per hour of hobby time, and cycling about equals it (because I do all of my maintainance myself and ride relatively cheap bikes).

Meh, with that open day announcement saying it's a small team the resources are probably around what Bloodbowl gets. Plus it is just a specialist FW game, if things get too bad they can just drop it and move the minis to other games like AoS or redesign for Bloodbowl and even Lord of the Rings if the scale goes that direction.

It looks like something that could match

- Idoenth Deepkin

- Malerion Aelves

- Lumineth

- Eldar (exodities ?)

I kinda think it's Eldar. However with people saying Deepkin now I'm wondering if it's a twist and actually the Lumineth River Sub-faction.

Being water-based they should incorporate the Deepkin design element and the veiled lady aelf looked like she belongs there.

Also Huzzah for Saturday news confirmation! :D

In this period of total closure would be amazing if the Warhammer community would be sharing preview of what designs they are working on from home. I mean that part will not stop and I doubt they are ever going to share it but one can just express a desire. Old world is 3 years away, so why not sharing what they are working on for AoS?
