Two neat bits of new from GW
https://www.warhammer-community.com/2020/03/20/warhammer-on-twitch-is-free/

First their Twitch stream is FREE right now. That's all their past talks, videos, battlereports and more all totally free to watch!

Secondly they are going to put some of their limited edition models up for grabs for everyone - since people won't be flocking to store birthdays or openings and the like. We still don't know all the details of what specific models will be on sale, but it could be a neat time to grab some unique models (or even start that Primaries Lieutenants army ;))

I hope the Bugmans will also be among them. I don't think it will be, but one can hope.

I think there is scope for a necromantic horde. Reanimating minions on the go building zombie dragons and flesh beasts/golems on the go as you earn your faction points Ala depravity points.

Problem would be adding a character too it.

I think there is space for more in death, retire LoN , add a death mages book for deathrattle, dead walkers and death mages. Expand on soul blight and expand on FEC.

While we're speculating on Death and given what was absent for OBR (i.e. desert theme, chariots and mummies), I don't think it is beyond the realm of possibility that a "dry undead" faction made up of those things would still be possible.

OBR was far enough away from TK that there is still design space for a "TK minus skeletons" faction of desert-themed mummies, led by Khalida (Settra is too similar to the OBR dude IMHO).

Visually and thematically, the game could probably use a desert-themed faction, as it is the only common biome that is currently missing (although snow/ice isn't really covered now either beyond the Winterbite and Winterleaf sub-factions).

What if Chaos Dwarfs are matriarchal?

Or at the very least have a significant proportion of female models as a contrast to the traditional 'men only' Dwarfs.

Being a huge fan of Chaos Dwarfs, I have obsessively collected every single piece of lore from White Dwarf, Black Library books, and Battletomes of Chaos Dwarfs in Age of Sigmar. Nothing seems to suggest that's the case as of now. In fact, most of the lore just seems to be exactly the same as from Fantasy even down to Hashut still being around somehow even after getting krumped by Gork and Mork. Everything suggests they're still patriarchal, especially being called "Furnace Kings" in some cases and Hashut is even still called "Father of Darkness". That doesn't mean if Chaos Dwarfs got a plastic release and battletome they couldn't completely retcon it, but I'd kind of feel a huge retcon takes away what makes them interesting. There is apparently matriarchal Fyreslayer holds though. The June 2019 White Dwarf mentions one. Same one actually mentions a rogue Fyreslayer that became one of Hashut's first priests and suggests there's some Chaos Dwarfs in the Salamander's Spine.

Speaking of matriarchal and Forgeworld factions, however, now that Forgeworld seems to have stopped the sale of Fimir, and we're seemingly never going to get the Meargh and Fimm models shown off a few years ago, it would be a good time for GW to bring them back in plastic with a whole battletome. They're still a fairly unique race with an interesting playstyle that I think have been dealt a short hand each time they were given a chance. We have Fomoroids now, and if expanded those could maybe scratch the same itch if they wanted to just drop Fimir completely.

I‘d wish this was possible though I can see a major issue for all our ordinary bone boys:

It‘d be way more effective for Nagash to simply melt all Skeletons into Bonereapers instead of having a Skeleton Army.... 😢

Bonereapers require the souls of warriors; Skeetons barely require any old soul.  I think there is still room for both.

Traditional Skeleton armies typically work with lots of "chaff" in the form of Skeleton warriors. So any old person once alive can be used and animated with the will of the Necromancer. Tomb Kings were different in that they had the will of their own somewhat rather than just a local necromancer.

Ossiarchs are a fused blending which means they take a lot more souls and a lot more skeletons to make one warrior. They are a whole army built around the elite concept. This makes them very very deadly, but also very expensive in resources to produce. This will impact how Nagash can use them and also how losses affect that army. A regular army of grunt skeletons backed up with powerful mages and such will still have a place when numbers are more important than elite status.

The 300 could defend a small gorge against an opposing army, but on an open plain they'd have been surrounded and overrun within moments.

So the Tithe Legion it´s going to be a completly new legion of Nagash?? Or just another OSB legion like Petrifex??

And about SoulB and LoN... maybe we can get both Battletomes. SoulB for a vampire theme force and LoN with zombies, skellies, etc... that allow you to mix the themed bts (NH, OBR, SoulB) with the core LoN models, allowing you to mix some units depends of your legion (If you use Sacrament, death with OBR; same as Grief now).

Why are the 700 Thespians that fought to the death alongside the Spartans so often overlooked?  Not quite the same appeal, I suppose.

I really hope that next weekend is a mix of AOS and 40K, if not I'd rather it be AOS opening, another weeks wait would be a pain considering it would be almost 2 weeks after the original date. I know with the global situation going on I shouldn't be complaining, it's just a great time to be a gamer.

Lets play the long shots.

For 40k: exodites and the return of the squats.

For AoS: Formoroids as a full faction and a tease for even more elves.

Specialist games: Battlefleet Gothic.

If Squats come out I would finally after 18 years or so of playing Fantasy/AoS, GW would get me to play 40k
