I guess we'll see tomorrow. They have never stopped selling Square bases.

Do you mean inside boxes that haven't been updated yet? On their website the only bases they sell separately are round.

GeneralZero
You are all wrong! It is official. Starting tomorrow, every single miniature have to be on a SQUARE base for AoS. Now, all of you guys, back to work and rebase everything.
Ryan Taylor
Except that outside of Matched play you have never "needed" to put your models on rounds.

Televiper11
I prefer rounds: aesthetically and in terms of gameplay.
Panzer
I'll be laughing so hard if GW releases an AoS Apocalypse or Epic AoS that plays similar to WHFB. Edited November 14, 2019 by Panzer 1
HollowHills
We've just stamped out the last of the square base players in our local area (most have come onto rounds but still play). I hope this doesn't bring all that nonsense back. 3

Overread
GW spends years segmenting their staff; sending threatening emails (they don't do this now); stalking leaks and plugging up any rumour hole. Then their shipping company prints the shipping manifesto online We can see Rohan getting some palisades and other terrain; Endless Spells for Slaves to Darkness; Wyrd knows how to keep it secret with "scenic base"; the rest is terrain sets we know about and are already shown (eg Zone Mortalis). Great to hear Slaves getting Spells (though we sort of expect it)

I hope all they‘ll do is sell Regiment bases in which round bases fit so you can play with your round base models VS squares (pretty much what ASoIaF is doing right now) and then add a cleaner, simpler version of the 8th Ed rules for humongous battles. The "Varanspire" terrain is - alas - probably just that (cf. the "Bell tower tag") : From this recap : https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/09/30/warcry-the-future-of-the-eightpoints/

That is pretty much how I envisioned it. Back in the day when LotR came out it was a skirmish game with round bases. Later GW introduced a supplement with regimental bases to play larger games similar to WHFB.

EccentricCircle
"Astrolithic" is a very Seraphon type word. If they are coming as soon as suggested then that could be their terrain.
MitGas
Hmmm, those small ruins in the bell tower set look new. Not sure they're in the starter box.
