Today is gonna be 40k or specialist games?

My guess would be the 2 beastgrave warbands possibly along with the lizardmen bloodbowl team and other box game stuff.

Next week the psychic awakening stuff which leaves the last week's of October for the new undead.

Do you have some (hobby related) Holidays wishes? Yes? Then let Da Red Gobbo know about them and maybe he will grant them!!

I'm a bit sad this Red Gobbo is Santa Claus' assistant. But the mini can be turned easily into its glorious old self.

Weird that it’s just the FEC warband, they’ve all been in pairs before.

yeah, true... absolute sticking my finger in the air and making a wild, unsubstantiated, almost certainly wrong guess here...

The Wolf Boyz will in someway be part of/related to the Maw Tribes rather than Gloomspite and they want to drop it closer to that book's release so they don't give away any tidbits of info on their warscroll (keywords etc) and/or have some more models to drop around that book as there's only going to be a couple of new actual Ogor sculpts.

It’s weird that they show the warbands in a certain order and then release them randomly 😂😂 but glad FEC is coming now!

Everyone in UK is complaining that they started too early to put out Christmas decoration this year, but to be fair in US Starbucks already put out the Pumpkins Latte...

Christmas stuff showing up way too early? What a surprise.

It's more that the competition is on the 7th of November but that's well over a month away - just seems early to tease us those details when normally you'd want that info right up close. Still that gives us a whole month to work out what to put on those christmas lists.

As ever with GW release practices, it was an interesting but weird week-end ! There is a few questions I d'like to discuss ;

1) Question : Why where the Devoted Of Sigmar gutted in the CoS book ?

Flagellants and Priests are very well represented in artworks and stories since AOS 2.0 (the new Celestant-Prime artwork with cherubs and Devoted with cool design, Excelsior Warpriests leading crusades of Devoted to Lethis from Azyrheim to help the siege in Forbidden Power, squads of mounted Warrior Priests defending Glymmsforge, the God-King's brand story in the Stormcast BT, etc.). Speaking of Excelsior Warpriest, why isn't he rereleased with the book (like the Doomseeker with Fyreslayers) or simply its Warscroll printed in ? The EW are very present in the Forbidden Power story and rules as said above, and so are they in the AOS RPG Soulbound ! Note that the Excelsior Warpriest is the only "common Human" model designed for AOS so far that is not dead (unlike that sigmarite peasant in the Lord of Afflictions' hand or the entombed Sigmarite barbarian in the objective set).

Also : Witch Hunters of the Order of Azyr ! They are in tons of BL novels right know, and are a very important Warhammer archetype.

Possible answer : because (just like the Nighthaunts after the Legions of Nagash BT), there is a Devoted of Sigmar army in the work. It would help GW  flesh out the normal human sides of things (like Cities of Sigmar do), but with a proper AOS, trademarkable design (unlike CoS).

It would also help GW flesh out AT LONG LAST the Realm of Azyr (which already exist in rules in the Chronomantic Cog and the Celestial Hurricanum warscrolls) and the city of Azyrheim. There is too few details about Azyr and its capital in the Core Book, the Stormcast BT and apparently now in the CoS BT (which indeed contains infos about Azyrheim, but with less details than the old Grand Alliance : Order book !). And we need a map of Azyr...

The Devoted of Sigmar armies could be presented (like in AOS1 fluff and the Lethis story) as crusading armies coming from Azyrheim to help the Cities of Sigmar and the greatly outnumbered Stormcasts Eternals in every Realms. So a kind of rearguard / reserve horde-type troops.

2) Question : why didn't GW expand on the "Hammergrod" Forbidden Power in the Orruk Warclans BT ?

Apparently Gordrakk now have a huge siege engine with a godbeast skull mounted on in, and he wants to use it on the Gates of Azyr. But he wants to test it somewhere first. The obvious choice of an Order city in Ghur near Grodrakk is obvously Excelsis. And we saw 2 new, modern artworks of Excelsis in White Dwarf a few months back - artworks that didn't appeared ANYWHERE else, and not in the CoS book (as the various YouTube reviews have already shown) !

Possible answer ; the next AOS supplement (in 2020?) will be a Siege book with Order Cities scenery, Bones fortresses (as seen in the Ossiarch Bonereapers leaks) and Chaos Dreadhold (re)releases, with Ironjawzs siege engines on the top. So there could be new fluff, scenery kits and rules for Excelsis (and possibly Azyr) for example...

WHAT DO YOU THINK ?

As someone who just spent around £200 on a Devoted of Sigmar army before the cull, I hope you're right! 😂

Seriously though, I knew they were not a competitive army and were liable to become unsupported and am happy with my purchases. If they were released as a new army that would be awesome! Seeing as the EW isn't in the cities of Sigmar book I think you may be onto something. They are also not one of the factions in the book that has a page on their lore.

Oh interesting, where did this come from?

From the Mawtribes Facebook page. But the news itself apparently came from 4chan so take it as you will. People are calling it fake because of the mention of "Ogre" and not Ogor.

Ogor ogre oger are all different spellings however only ogre gets a green light for most auto-spellcheckers. So it easily could be someone using Ogor as GW would use it and then getting a red underline and spellchecking it to ogre.

Interestingly we do have Bonereapers scenery but no mention nor hint thus far of endless spells

Strange they're getting rid of the starter set. And ahhh that new book probably does explain why the cards have been going out of stock or whatever online. It was nice to spend like $8 and get a functioning warband and it kinda stings that now you'll probably have to spend like $40 on the book, but if I'm getting the hint I bet it'll expand to way more existing armies beyond the few we currently have.

As someone who doesn't play Warcry, is all you really need just the core book and maybe a terrain set? Do you need like other tokens and stuff or do those come in the terrain sets?

You can always make your own tokens out of cardboard.

Yeah, that Crusher is something else. Throwing scenery? Awesome. He looks like he stepped out of another game, but still fits very well into AoS, doesn‘t he? The skin color instantly reminded me of the old LotR trolls.

Agree, It looks like a mix of LotR Troll and Drukhari Clawed Fiend, But he has one eye and it has "Fomoroid" in it's name. It's clearly inspired by celtic fomorians but it could be also a reference to Fimirs.
