Does anyone know if there is an actual preview seminar at the event? Possibly our best hope for a big announcement.

Two battletomes is already a lot. I don't expect anything more for AoS (don't confuse with warcry, shadespire...). Maybe some endless spells for them.

Yeah two new battletomes is a big thing for AoS esp as they clear up quite a few armies in one big go (esp the Free Cities tome). Spells and terrain have been standard for all the Tomes thus far this year, I'd be surprised if GW doesn't bless them with them but who knows that might be info they are holding onto for the future or later in the event.

Even if there aren't any its still a huge release event.

They are ****** soup tomes without new models though...

Well we expected no new models for most of the AoS armies; GW can't give them all new stuff.

The Orruk is a soup but quite expected based on other releases and lets not forget Orks were once one army anyway so its good to see them back together in the WAAARRGH

Free Cities iwll be interesting to see how it balances out

I wonder if the semantics of “New” Battletome means we could still get updated battletomes.

Well we had Flesh Eaters and Skaven updated tomes so yes - this year is about getting AoS all onto 2.0.

Really the only surprise is that there was no Slaves to Darkness Tome announced this time around; but there's more than enough Warcry to tide us over.

Haha I knew they would just combo everything together...now the Orruks all in one is interesting. I thought Ironjawz disliked or dismissed any other greenskin that wasnt Ironjawz as they saw them as inferior?

Thinking back to Old World, they could have some kind of animosity rule as a penalty for having a Big Waaagh!

People wondering where all the new AoS models are need to look no further than Warcry.

Creating 8 warbands each with their own unique design and background must have a taken a good chuck out of AoS releases for some time to come. Possible could have had something like two new full army releases instead of Warcry.

Aesthetically speaking I think the Free Peoples are awful, they’re manifestly a grab bag of multiple different factions who have very particular distinct identities. They look like what they are in that sense.

Lore and game wise I have no issue with it but you’ll never convince me it’s not a concept borne entirely out of commercial compromise.

Aye but then again teh lore has had them working together for a long while though its a bit of a surprise to put all the aelves into a tome along with humans and dwarves. WE might see it fragment later but right now it commercially makes sense to get AoS up to speed faster

Shedding a tear for no Ogor news.

Continue languishing without allegiance abilities...

Maybe we get something for Underworlds? 😞 I don't know. I mean I have to say I did know what was coming for me. But I at least expected some kind of Ogor news. As GW announced a battletome for every GA I really have thought Gutbusters or Beastclaw Raiders would get something.

And a combined Orruk battletome is cool, but sadly there are also no endless spells for them.

The reason I am not THAT disappointed is because Destruction got Gloomspite Gitz at the start of the year and I am still so in love with them. I switched from being an Ogor guy to being a Grot guy immediatly. But deep down in my heart I am still an Ogor guy.

And I only switched to the Gitz, because we Ogor players were in a big drought, which will propabbly continue at least for another year.

Those arent AoS models. Those are Warcry models. Cant field a 2k list of small skirmish units

Actually you can - the warcry models ALL have AoS profiles - check the store page for downloads. They also feature specialist units within them, each a "must take" limit based on the number in the box. Meanwhile they all have single weapon profiles so you can build your warcry band however you want and effortlessly port them over to AoS.

Yeah, I'm not thrilled with the Free Peoples soup.

Just rolling together 90+ unit listings from what were at least 5 different armies in old warhammer is excessive even compared to any prior combined battletome, and more or less kills any chance those factions/models had of developing any interesting flavor.
