Nighthaunt army and allegiance - Death Artifacts?

I noticed on the warhammer community army builder I can select death artifacts for my nighthaunt army even though I am playing them nighthaunt allegiance.

Is that allowed as I miss cloak of mists and shadows and seems I am allow to select it but I thought if your chose an allegiance you have to select spells, artifacts and use the command traits soley from that book.

Correct.

Currently the only armies that can use the the Grand Alliance artifacts and allegiance abilities are the ones that do not have any of their own. 

But GW didn’t program their warscroll builder to take this into account and left it so you could choose them all regardless.
