Casting range

Casting range to buff friendly units. Do all the models of that unit have to be within range or just 1?

I have same thoughts on spell that inflict mortal wound but I’m assuming if the closest model of unit in range whole unit has to be affected.

If the ability says 'a unit within X" ', then you only need 1 model from that unit to be within X".

If the ability says 'a unit wholly within X" ', then you need every model from that unit to be inside the X" radius and the bases mustn't cross the limit.
