I bet it‘s a remake of their painting app (same logo at the end and in the article they‘ve said it‘s sth. To make painting easier).

second guess: it‘s an airbrush set. Why? If you look at some of the Underworlds Terrain you‘ll see that an increasing number of GW products were airbrushed.

That's because the terrain sets aren't painted by the 'Eavy Metal team 😉.  Not ruling it out, but you'll find that very little of GW's actual miniatures are airbrushed (and then normally only for getting an even base colour rather than blends).

Painting app is a really good call!

You know if they made a painting app that had a blank canvas for select models and then let you pick the colours to put onto it that would be something! You can do it yourself with layermasks pretty easily in photoshop if your'e prepared to make them yourself (I recall someone over on the Warmachine forums who worked for PP talking about how they'd been doing it for years to let them test out new rough schemes).

GW could have a handful of models with pre-made layer masks for different colour regions - even if its jsut getting the basic scheme for the core colours on it would be a big boon to many getting started. I'm actually surprised their current paint app didn't do that for them.

Could it be something as lame as just more options of spray primer?

Although that wouldn't really warrant a trailer..

My hope is a sophisticated painting app of some sort. That would really be something new and awesome....

I mean, you can get an airbrush from many different places already..

WAIT A SEC we are all missing the obvious answer!

GW indeed going to make grey acceptable by releasing an extensive range of shades and paints in grey tones! Yes you can now field your army in a classic, old style Black and White appeal! Armies of grey will feature a vast swathe of shade options; allowing you to really make the army stand out an true black and white style!

I'd love it to be better airbursh paints in proper dropper bottles. But I think that's just wishlisting.

I think Jack is onto something and I bet the update is as simple as this: the current app but each painting technique / colour /model links to a Duncan or Peachy video :(

Not that I don't enjoy Duncan and Peachy (all hail to the painting demigods), but honestly I'm setting my expectations to low for this one.

I'm guessing that whatever this is, will form part of the existing "Citadel Paint System".  So something that can easily be demonstrated on WHTV with Duncan & Peachy.  It's clearly focused on army painting rather than display pieces.

I hope it's not an airbrush for that reason - you can't move for airbrush tutorials on youtube,  WHTV is one of the best resources for painting guides because it's achievable without stacks of finnicky specialist kit

I'd like to point out that prostitution in the U.K. is actually legal but there are a lot of restrictions in how you can advertise it. With that in mind, I'm going to take a left field guess and say this is meant to be an under the table advertisement for an upcoming Duncan and Peachy escort service. It'll probably be built into the citadel paint app and coincide with the Slaanesh release. That way if painting your new models is getting you worked up you can just click on a tab in the paint app and schedule an appointment with one of them. Obviously this will only be a feature for UK customers though.

I'm still putting money on a display case.  The case will show you haow many models you still have to paint - and shatter your illusion that you'll only buy something else "once I've got through that lot".

The shelves will be modular, and therefore just when you think one case will do, a massive model will force the purchase of yet another case.

The display case will have a highly reflective pane at the front so you can see yourself reflected in the shadespireesque undeding quest to free yourself from the tyranny of unpainted plastic.

At this point you will see the previously unseen soul token within... as a part of your soul enters therin for painting eternity.

Motivation? - if you want your soul back... get painting.

According to rumors sent into  Faeit212

It's a new paint range. Coming May/June.
Includes return of some old colors, new airbrush paints and slow drying blending medium.

Also
"Overheard at adepticon that well known painters have been working with GW to help create the new paints and some of them will be new formula washes that act more like acryllic pin washes and leave no staining on flat surfaces."

And the GW facebook team confirmed it wasn't pre-painted miniatures or colored plastic.

I would be ecstatic if they were moving to dropper bottles. I hate moving them over.

I refuse to use citadel paints almost exclusively because of their pot design. It's the worst.

Interesting.  It would certainly tie up with one thing I heard a while back following the "retirement" of the Forge World range of paints, in that GW were going to look at trying to reintroduce some of them as part of their main range (thus available in store).  Hopefully it won't see the retirement of the existing range of paints though...

What does make me sad (other than having racks and racks of paints already), is that it's going to mean places like my local "store*" are going to be even worse.  They stock perhaps quarter of the range now, so with new paints, the chance of them having the paint I need are even lower 😂!
