The Rumour Thread

Recommended Posts

Turgol and Horticulous, I feel that you are ignoring half my post.

I took NDA rumours with salt, because well for starters it's rumours, not facts, and I personally didn't believe sylvaneth not getting an update. Like I said in my previous post, the bit I feel you ignored, I'm glad it's allegedly fake.

But still it was rumours on a news and rumours thread, instead of the off topic discussion that happens here most of the time.  Ben upon discovering that it was indeed a troll should have blocked him and dropped by with a quick note saying, my dudes it's a troll and fake rumours. Instead NDA was free to post for 2 or 3 days even with a parting message.

I take everything I hear with a critical mind (as call it with suspicion). I have the same amount of reasons to believe either NDA or Ben. I don't know any of them. I give Ben the benefit of doubt because he is protecting his site and community. (I hope)

And this rumour drama keeps things fresh aswell 😂

Again, I'm glad is allegedly fake, because I really want Darkoath around april/may.

Last we heard it was Fyreslayers February and skaven march right?

Fair enough, I am sorry if I took for the wrong sort of answer. I do believe there is lots more reasons to believe Ben, not mainly because of being owner of the site, but because he is reporting on a fact (him investigating) and not on hot air (rumours, when not backed).

Fyreslayer-Skaven-FEC-Darkoath and Slaanesh sounds believable for 2019. I sure hope we get a couple of surprises though.

All good. As my wife says I have trust issues 😂

Again i can't wait for Darkoath. With the warband in January and if the army is released 3 months later like grots April/May we should see a release (maybe about same time as idoneth last year If I am not mistaken) and soon after Sylvaneth and Overlords warbands. That's my speculation schedule for AoS.

Okay, can we please have less of the pitchforks and torches please. There is no grand conspiracy or this forum being in GW's pocket.  If you think how long this topic has been active, mods have only gotten involved when:

  • You say something nasty about somebody
  • You post pictures which aren't official ones (this is purely because those sorts of pictures usually make the models look not as good)

At the end of the day, Rumours are rumours. Some are true and some are not true. However, the issue in this case is when somebody who is a member of this forum creates another account to post up 'rumours'. This is bad as it can mislead people about things just so somebody gets a kick out of the 'excitement' being generated.

So stepping back on the Rumour Train....

Stuff we know:

  • Flesh Eaters vs Skaven is coming (Carrion Feast)
  • There will 'probably' be a Flesh Eater Battletome and Skaven Battletome over next 12 months
  • Darkoath are probably coming
  • Slaanesh stirs

With the Horus Heresy Weekender happening this weekend, we may see some tidbits pop out but I would expect more stuff over next month or two ;)

PS - @Greasygeek, Pats all the way! ;)

So far the Horus Heresy Weekender has only had 40K/Horus stuff, Necromunda and Adepticus Titanicus stuff shown. If they've any AoS then its well hidden. A surprise, I'd have thought they'd have done a bit more, even just previews, for AoS by now save for a few stormcast heads. But then again its a 40K era event so might be they just didn't want any fantasy stuff appearing.

There's at least two weeks of Cultists and the pre orders for week 1 only went out today.

After that there might be something else (Lord of the Rings or Specialist) then I'd wager the next thing is the Flesheaters and Skaven. It's the most complete "pre-release" info GW has given us. After that, or before, we'd be in dire need of a new preview event to set up AoS for the next few months. Since after that the only thing we've got is general "stuff coming for Slaanesh" hints and the like - ergo no concrete info.

So some time in Feb or start of March I'd wager we are up for a preview of things to come.

If you look at the live HH blog they’re talking about the new ‘Malevolence’ book which will allow you to field full daemon armies in HH games for the first time, nothing announced but might mean a couple of new FW daemon models coming down the warphole at some point.

There was a price for Maggotkin, but then there was also a price for Greenskins which are now gone so who knows

Also I know its not fantasy but look at these little ratties from Necromunda

March has been heavily hinted at as a big 40k event where Abbadon is suppose to be coming to Vigilus since the countdown ends around that time. it probably going to kick of a 40K global campaign and chaos marine release

I wouldn't be surprised if we got another traitor legion codex when that happens, it'd be kinda neat to get a month of slaanesh where we got hosts battletome and emperors children codex all in one go.

Do we have any more news on gutbusters? I’m sorry I just have about 30 of them and want to know when I should begin rebasing.

Nothing that I know of. Been some minor rumblings that they *might* get a battletome in the next 12 months, but nothing I would consider remotely concrete.

Codex Black Legion will come in March, but a lot of the new units will have <legion> keyword so will work for the other guys too.

Expect Ynnari to get a model release with their own range, so they aren't just using a mix of dark eldar and craftworlds. Will that be this year? Don't know.

Sisters of Battle are obviously coming. I also expect more primaris at somepoint.

To be honest 2019 will be fairly light on aos I think, I think we will get a campaign book like malign portents and more boxes in the style of carrion empire.

Maybe a soul wars related campaign in Chamon?

I'd be fine with a light model year,  but i'd hope we see a good deal of tome releases if that's the case. Those have a much faster turn around, and an injection of rules for fairly fleshed out armies would do wonders for the health of the game. If someone told me BoC were going to win a major event a year ago, i'd have laughed at them. xD

Not that AoS is at all in an unhealthy state mind you! xD

You know what? To my that doesn’t sound to bad if 2019 isn’t yet another year that turns everything upside down. Having only a few tomes and maybe some endless spells gives some time for those of us who get to play 10-20 games a year tops to actually settle on the game for while.  Not too bad I should think. If we do  need a little spice, we can always pick up Firestorm or Malign Portents or some of the other yet to be tried add ons.

I mean Skaven, FEC, Slaanesh, and Darkoath is already a lot of tomes to begin with (if rumors are true), granted I do expect the Chaos release to be somewhat spaced from one and another. and there always a chance that there a stormcast Battletome this year.

True, the current rumors already fill up a good chunk of the year's releases! Not to mention Fyreslayers was also a tome rumor that was churning around.
