daveboy
Hey there, Iam going to start this thread posting my progress on painting and building an dark wood elf army and some other minis just to learn or variety. While being in the hobby for about 4 years iam more the painter than player and realy like the artistic part of it. So for my "project", it will be longterm due to not having that much time and the time i spent converting and painting single miniatutes. So i start the thread with the first finished mini and one which is ready to prime. Hang on. Wildhunter and an pathfinder The next pictures will be the bday present to my gf. One of the first more showcase models i painted. Dave 26

daveboy
Thank you very much. Iam not sure if i continue painting NMM or move on with TNMM, which i prefer more. Simply because its more realistic.
daveboy
So, here my first finished pathfinder. Turned out pretty well. The next will be with more contrast in the skin and i also will take more time for the TMM, but iam still in the learning phase so its okish. Maybe ill add some blood but that will be it. And here what iam up to building. An Wild Hunter Kindred on Elk, an Melusai conversion with Spear in the one Hand and Blade in the other, a shield on the Back and lets see what other bits i find worth attaching. 18
Ryan Taylor
Well that archer is fantastic. Simple headswap and it completely changes the model. Well done.

daveboy
Thank you. Yeah i've to agree, little conversions are often pretty neat and an wonderful way to make the army or warband look just good with little effort. Especially when the models are so dynamic as the namerati reavers. When i first saw them i was like urgh, just not my thing but with being an elf they look nice. But what i dont understand is why gw is making the feet of their models so big these days....idk.
MOTN
Brilliant stuff, very inspirational. The pathfinder is very effective and definetely a conversion I want to try myself.

Seraphage
You are a fantastic painter. May I ask how did you manage that extraordinary brown quiver on the archer ?

May I ask how did you manage that extraordinary brown quiver on the archer ? Of course you can. You mean the elf i guess. So i paint with vallejo colors so i dont know the Citadel color names. So with vallejo you base with the FLAT EARTH and wash it with 50/50 SMOKE and water, then you paint some highlights with DARK SAND and then you shade with again SMOKE and a mix of SMOKE and BLACK at the end. So the caps are the color names, Smoke is a realy realy good and versatile color, its an dark not redish brown, flat earth is an yellowish-orange brown, also very versatile and one of my favorite colors and dark sand is an yellowish bleached bone. i hope this helps, if you got further question just ask.

daveboy
So here some early Wips of my Warlord on Wyvern. It will take some time sculpting this Big Wing and its my biggest model and conversion this far, but its so much fun. What do you think? Its the zombiedragon kit with troglodon head and a converted savageorc warboss with orc rider legs. Be aware my next 2 models which ill complete painting are a goblin and a wardancer! daveboy
So here is the promised Goblin. Sadly my light died and i replaced it with a way too warm one. I have to fix this next week and take some better pictures. 4
