First test Mournfang done.

Skin is 100% in.

Black chipped plate, dull iron and bronze are 100% in.

Brown leathers with dark greeny blue leathers are 100% in. Might vary the Ogor trousers colour.

Beast skin and fur is 90% in. Might have some fur variation.

The colour of the icy base is 100% in. The TUFTS I am not sure on at all. I hve some wintery ones to try (not as many lengths with those though).

HORNS I'm not certain on. Beast (black) I 50% like. The dark brown, orange bones I like too but they're harder to paint and Ive no firm style on those yet. Will still mix in a more traditional dirty ivory (like on his helm).

All in all, enjoyed this!

Wow! Great job on the lantern guy (can never remember their names...) he looks great at a distance and then looking closer, sone awesome details like the sand timer. Overall a very nice job indeed! I think the vanguard could be the ones to make me pick up a box of sce. Not had much interest in the current iteration but man these new guys look cool - I look forward to seeing you paint a whole unit of gryph hounds [emoji16]

why thank you! These guys are tabletop and I can see all the errors I'd normally feel compelled to go back and fix but hey, they just need to look good enough!

YES the new SC are going to be awesome. But all SC are going to play different now or so I hear!

First of all, I'm back onto some prosecutors (I've a lot of SC to paint for a tournament to open up new lists, otherwise I'll use old lists). This is the first:

And then, separately, I'm messing with the AoS28 idea of a more darker look. I struggle with that with my paint style but my first attempt is:

A long time since I last posted but I've been chugging along with a few projects and forgot to update this - oh well, no one is bound to keep their own little forum painting area up to date!

It's a great motivator though!

Here is the last model I finished for my Beastclaw Raiders early last month, the Frostlord Keekee Macka:

He is ready for his close up now:

you can tell the figs are  great, and I guess it may be the effect you're looking for, but the these last pics are a bit 'blown-out' in terms of highlights? On my monitor anyway ...

I could probably try a different lighting setup - it's tough to get it right!

Or I could mess with the photo in photoshop but I'm not really an expert at that :)

Quick and Dirty: Go to Image -> Adjustments -> Levels, and then mess with the three nubs under Input Levels for your dark darks, mids, and whites.

Involved: Or if you know about photography a little, you can go to Filter -> Camera Raw Filter, near the top and mess with all the things, bring that exposure down, eye-dropper white balance it, mess with the whites, shadows, highlights, contrast, etc.

Although the way your backgrounds are blown tfo, I'd recommend opening up your fstop when taking the pictures so that there's information to mess with, as it's probably zebras back there.

Tips from a fellow beastclaw raider painting his first army!

This is amazing advice and I gotta experiment now.

I might also try to find the best way to do  an intentional 'whiteout' effect in the snow...

...sounds cool but wasn't what I was after!

Change of pace (for a little tournament) and back to the SCE army with some allies. Never painted this many models as 1 batch before.

Lots of new things learned here so far. They are probably 70% to where I want them to be (tabletop):
