We are talking about Nagash here. He is the single most power entity that actually walks among mortals and immortals alike. There is no way he wouldnt be able to cast every single know and unknown Death related spell since he more then likely created them all. Realm spells would just be a matter of harnessing magic from the area which is more then capable of doing.

You cant really compare Nagash to the Disciples of Tzeentch. They are just that, disciples, not Tzeentch himself. Nagash should and will always be stronger then some over zealous cultists that have learned to harness magic. Just because they worship Tzeentch doesnt mean they will be on the God like level that Nagash is. I mean that is pretty much reflected in the lore and table. And Hand of Dust is hit or miss. Unless your rolling hot dice its not like its taking out units every turn or even every game for that matter.

Hand of dust is too binary and too easy to get off with portal. Just doesn’t make for fun games. Taking off monsters with basically no skill whatsoever isn’t That fun for the opponent IMO  

 

Make hand of dust unable to be to be used by portal or something.

It takes no skill only if Nagash's opponent took no effort in positioning his army whatsoever, than it takes a 50% chance, not talking about artefacts to ignore spell effects, auto-unbinds etc, so Nagash have to cast HoD 4 times to statistically kill 2 monsters with it and he might not earn his cost back, which he does through other abilities.

Nagash is a force to be reckoned with, but he is also 800 points with 16hp on 3+/6++ save...

kurnoth hunter, ballista... poison wind mortar , jezzails or a good old charge from a Bloodthirster will wreck him pretty fast

28 wounds rend -2

38 wounds rend -1

56 wounds without rend

or three lucky hits by durthu...

 

the hand of dust - portal combo is pretty cheesy, but the same could be said about three thundertusks (which I must admit cost 1140 lord 2xhuskard)

 

friendly casual play is not high competitive play

I would love to see a unit if vampires aside from the knights, something fast, agile, lightly armored but with impactful regeneration, something like the vampire thrall in the video game mordhim city of the dammed.

A higher end necromancer would be nice too, many something as simple as a necromancer on mortis engine, just a mortis engine that is also a hero has 1/1 cast/unbind and his own unique buff spell. 

also clearly more warscroll battalions that don't require any of the named characters.

Vargheists?  I really like the idea. but they are not optimal in a lon list. everything is a hard sell in LoN without the summoning keyword attached to the unit.  I think they would make lists if they fixed LoB to include +1a to vargheists and some type of small heal on kill.

bloodseeker palanquin is similar to what you described. does the wail of the damned and has a caster on top.

Yes, but it costs an arm and a leg... without real benefits of running a combined model. In comparison to the Throne with all the buffs and tricks for 260, the palanquin for 320 is just rubbish
