The Painting Contract - January 2019

Hello folks and welcome to the Painting Contract for January 2019!

If you don't know the rules they are:

Each month you post an amount of models that you agree to try to paint/build/convert/sculpt. This can be terrain or models for Age Of Sigmar, Blood Bowl, Blitz Bowl, Warhammer Underworlds, Warhammer Quest Silver Tower / Shadows Over Hammerhal, or Gorechosen.

On the 28th of the month the contract closes and you can then post your progress images so that they can be critiqued, shared and boasted about. It is a great way to get involved in the community and to get inspiration.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone share their progress!

Got a busy few months coming so am going to try and set reasonable goals for this month;

Paint Great Unclean One

Paint his Herald

Finish the banners I’ve yet to do for the rest of my Nurgle army

Rather than commit to one particular model or unit, I've got a few things that need painting or building:

• Finish the detail on my Space Wolf team
• Try some faster painting styles on a Tyranid Kill Team and/or Stormcast Eternals 
• Finish 5 Drakespawn Knights
• Rebase some of my Mixed Order pirate list and/or finish modelling the Frostheart rider conversion
• Make a start on the 2nd dragon or 2nd hydra for Order Serpentis 

My aim overall is to finish my Order Serpentis army by February. That's 1 army in a year since starting back up. I want a nice painted force if I can convince @Bento have a battle down at WHW and show me the ropes!

I got Malign Sorcery, the Daughters Battleforce and Morathi for Christmas. I don't want it to be this time next year before they see light of day!

This month I'm aiming to learn how to use an airbrush a bit, so will go for:

- finish up my hills that I started - just need a matte varnish for them.

- finish up my scratchbuilt ruins that I started a while back.  Need some texture, rocks, and sand for details, and then paint it up in a neutral grey color.

And sometime soon, a little bit better lighting for my hobby room...

Last month wasn't really a hobby succes, and that is most likely to continue the next couple of months. So a very small list this time. Just a list of things close to done, and everything I can finish is a bonus:

Garreks Reavers 50% done
Frigate 80% done
Khinerai 80% done
Cauldron crew 95% done
Stormcast Skirmish Squad 50% done.

Everything already basecoated but stretch: 10 gors, 2 Beastlords, 1 Khemist, 1 Overtyrant, 3 Nurglings

Contract for this month is to paint, another 10Gors, 10Bestigors, 3Rzaangor enlightenment, finish of my tzaangors shaman and rebase all my Gors onto 32mm bases.

as a stretch I’d paint 3dragon ogors to add to my painted boc collection.
