Ogor Base sizes

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am about to start rebasing my Ogors.

I was going to use 40 mm. bases. But now with the Beastclaw Raiders released I see that the Hunter comes supplied with a 50 mm. base.

Do you guys think it is because he is a character or should all Ogor models be on 50 mm. bases?

I think 50 mm. looks to big but I would like to follow the official line. I know they say that the base does not matter but that might change in the future. So just to be safe.

I had a similar ponder when starting mine too - the general consensus seems to be to have your ogors (and ironguts and leadbelchers) on 40mm and as you say characters on 50mm. That's what I went for

Also some characters e.g. the tyrant would possibly be too wide for 40mm, he's got a v wide stance the just about fits on 50mm

The thread in the general discussion section has a doc with base sizes although some are still estimates I think. That says 40mm for regular ogres and 50mm for tyrant. It does say 40mm for butcher and you'd have to check hunter.

2wound Orruks on 32mm so as above 'regular' Ogors on 40s and Bosses on 50s makes sense

Waaagh! Skullcrack iz comin fer ya

That document gives good estimates.

But there are always things that makes you wonder. Like why are fyreslayers on 32mm and dispossed on 25mm? And why are Collegiate Arcane wizards on 25 mm when Bloodreavers are on 32mm? Both are "human"

Sometimes it's hard to see the logic.

I have my Ogres on 40mm bases, Tyrant on 60mm, the mournfangs on 105mm ovals and Thundertusk/Stonehorne on 120mm ovals :)
