Fulkes
So I started something like this over on Death because I'm largely painting a Legion of Blood, but as someone who gets hobby ADHD and needs to take a break from painting skeletons and spirits from time to time I decided to start a larger painting plog to keep myself on track and working something all the time (I'm working on slow building far too many skeletons right now as well as a Beastclaw Raiders army because I want to be able to play games sometime this year) so I decided to start a more general PLOG to make updates on so I stay motivated and keep myself putting paint on models since I'm building a horde army from scratch as my main focus. So to get started, here is a WIP of Neferata (who was just posed on her mount for the picture, I haven't glued her on yet): The mount isn't quite done yet (still need to do his claws and armour for example) but I managed to do all those skulls so I'm a little proud for that. Fulkes
I've been working a bit on my Bloodseeker Palanquin after realizing the studio color scheme for Neferata's mount makes the skulls pop more so I was a little frustrated I didn't notice it sooner, so I'd put her off to the side a bit before going back to finish the skeleton. No pictures of the Palanquin just yet, but I promise that it's (eventually) coming.
Fulkes
I think I found the look for Neferata (and other Vampire skin) I like: So yeah, more progress is being made!
Saikological
Looks nice. what skin color is that?
Fulkes
6 hours ago, Saikological said: Looks nice. what skin color is that? Celestra Grey washed with Drakenhof Nightshade, Celestra Grey layered over that and then I glazed the top of the skin with Pallid Witch Flesh and picked out parts of the face in straight Pallid Witch Flesh. And I've also tried my hand at shiny armour for her as well: I feel like the armour comes across a lot more subtly in person but that could just be my partial color blindness talking. Fulkes
I took a break from Neferata last night and banged out my first complete unit champ (sans basing, I'll probably base him when I base Neffie herself): So yeah, I went for mixing in some Shadespire models into my army to give some flavor. Fulkes
Time to show off some actual completed model progress for a change! Now I may revisit her in the future to add a little more to her base (like a tombstone or two) and touch up the gold to give it more of a silver edge (I lost my bottle of Stormhost Silver I usually use for that somehow so none of that for now) but she's basically done now. I'm still stupidly happy with how those skulls look.
Fulkes
The models are clearly not done (I need to fill in some detail on the one with the ponytail where she kind of forms around some stair detail) but I did a thing and now have converted Vampire Lords on Nightmares to go with Neferata on the table! Fulkes
I haven't forgotten about this little blog/plog/thing I've mostly been waiting for my lightbox to get in. That said I do have something a little neat (in my opinion at least) I'm working on: Basically it's a converted Grey Seer (who needs paint now) for Skaven done up like the old Clan Mordkin, whose scheme fits far too well with Shyish to not want to see realized for AoS. Though if I keep this going I'm going to need to find some 3rd party bases to order to match the Grey Seer. Clan Mordkin are these fancy lads by the way:
