The Rotten Carnival - Nurgle army

As I’ve been enjoying everyone’s conversions and painting in these blogs I thought I would start to contribute as well.

My Nurgle army is my favourite hobby project, and I think i’ll be adding to it forever more.

Got a group shot yesterday and will try and get some half decent photos to show any conversions or paint jobs I like.

Thanks for the kind words guys.

MGP - yeah I ended up using a few different parts for this. I was just playing about with bits as initially I was going to get some pusgoyles and make a Lord of Afflictions and plonk the left over Blightlord on the worm, but the bits sort of worked so I just went ahead and made it.

The worm is from a Carrion Lancer, with the skeleton legs dremeled off. The legs are from a mounted Orc warboss. The torso and shield are from a chaos warrior, luckily the cape fit perfectly over the legs and seat without needing to be changed. The scythe and head are left over alternate bits from the Heresy miniatures Tunnel Dweller. Then odds and sods from the blightkings sprues were added to hide a few nasty joins.

Settlements often rejoice when a travelling carnival heads into town, but smiles soon turn to screams when the carnival of Papa Noigal rolls through the streets. A Nurgle warshrine, Papa Noigal and his twisted familiar Gimpus call on foul curses on the food and water supplies of the villages they visit, while Bongo the clown strikes down any locals bold enough to mount a defence and who have somehow survive getting past the foul Chaos Spawn pulling the cart by rusted chains.

Along for the fun come a Marauding gang of lepers, whose jolly demeanour is at odds with their foul countenance.

Have been moving house so work on the army has been limited as everything is packed up... so thought I’d have a go at a project i’ve had in mind a good while, a Nurgle Mammoth.

After giving up on finding a decent toy elephant or mammoth to use as a base I thought I’d try a giant tunnelling maggot made from sculpey, something I’d never tried before.

It came out of the game oven like the worlds saddest gammon joint but after some greenstuff, bits box scavenging, and painting I was pretty happy how it came out.

In my narrative games my general died freeing up his Nurgling familiar to ride the beast.
