Coven Throne - Questions

1) The Coven Throne is not a monster so it can gain the benefits of cover ?

The Keywords are  DEATH, VAMPIRE, SOULBLIGHT, KEYWORDS MALIGNANT, HERO, WIZARD, COVEN THRONE

 

2) Can I give an item ( weapon) to anyone on the Coven throne ? So can the "Handmaidens’ Needle-sharp Poniards" be given a nasty weapon like the Dimensional Blade ?

The coven Throne is neighter a Monster nor a Warmachine, so yes. It benefits of cover.

The Handmaiden shouldn't be a mount, more a companion. The Legions of Nagash Battletome doesn't make a difference between HERO, Companion and Mount.

In the corerules companions aren't restricted like mounts (even though it would be stupid lorewise to give a compenion the artefact instead of the hero).

No weapon of the Coven Throne is classified as a mount/companion. Therefore you can even go for Gyrstrike-Spectral Host if you want (upgrading the Poniards would be more effective, though  )

Remember that the HERO is not the Vampire Queen but the Coven Throne as a whole. The Vampire Queen simply resembles two of the four weapons the Coven Throne possesses.
