The terrain still looks great.  If that is from a company that sells them I'd be interested.  I know you were sorting out quality issues with the commission work before did it settle out?

I thought he ended up rectifying the problem really well- he created and sent a whole new batch.  When I tried to return the pieces that did not make snuff, he told me to keep them, so now I have a LOT of terrain.  I won't be using the second half once my hagglethorn hollow order comes (if it ever does) so if you are interested in those pieces that are functionally the same but missing the shading and highlights in the rocks...could be a good opportunity for both of us!

The cabinet was from a local furniture store (though I doubt it's unique to this store)-I'm pretty sure it's usual use is for the display of china and various dinnerware.

I designed and commissioned this piece of furniture for my "warhammer room" recently.  I stole the gaming lip idea from card tables and from the "Table of Ultimate Gaming" but decided to go with a design I thought was a little more aesthetic for our home!  I went to the warhammer citadel this weekend in Grapvine, Texas (flew down there for the warhammer new player expo) and saw that they had a few "Table of Ultimate Gaming" setup, and I'm glad I went with a furniture maker because the wood quality on those tables is less than I'd imagined when considering it.  We used an Alder for the wood and had stained two different colors.  I made it 42" tall so I wouldn't have to bend too much (I have a bad back), which is really tall.  My wife might need a stepping stool!  Other than that, there's not much else to change- the table surface fits the 6x4 play mats perfectly!

I'll be getting a bunch of terrain for it soon, but in the meantime (besides, of course, showing it off), I wanted to see other people's gaming tables- whether it's fine woodworking, cool terrain, modeled ground etc to help give me some ideas or just to stare at!

(Awesome Table btw and also very very beautiful showcase. Is it made from the same wood?)

The table is all Alder just with two different stains- the cabinet was just an in stock piece at the furniture store and I don't remember what kind of wood!  I had the cabinet first, so I tried to keep the table matching.  As far as the wife- well, that's the luckiest thing I've had happen in my life yet!
