Verminlord Choices

Hello fellow Rat-Lords,

I did it. I'm living my WHFB pipe dreams and playing Skaven, thank you AOS. 

Just picked up the Verminlord box, was looking for some general feedback on what people think of the various options. I've seen the power of the Deceiver, but I'm not sure how he would go with my current army.

I've got a box of Clanrats, the Get Started box set (happy to go either way on the kits), a Warlord, and a box of Stormfiends, AKA the greatest models ever.

Any and all advice would be great, thanks!

I am interested to hear this as well, since I haven't picked up the Verminlord yet.  To be honest I am less interested in the 'specialised' looking variants like the Pestilens or Eshin versions in favour of one that could be used in any Skaven army.

love the the Warpseer.

He has a default reroll on his save and the spell is great at controlling dangerous units.  It can really grind a big advance to nothing.  The command ability leaves little to be desired but the rest is great.

Don't forget his hand grenade - 6 mortal wounds in the first turn against movement 5 (bye bye Stormcast and Duardian heroes) - effective range of 25 inches (one use only). Or you could kill 6 Saurus Guard.

The Command Ability is unusable in the GH.

The spell is excellent as it has a 26 inch range.

It's all about the Verminlord Deceiver though. Either by himself or Skitterleaping Thanquol to nuke a target. The -2 to hit with shooting is ace as is the -3 rend on his weapon.

The Warbringer has a decent spell if you're running Stormvermin.

Yea the grenade is fantastic, but i'd probably hold onto it for a last turn objective clearer.  Have to make those saves!

Overall you can't go too wrong with any verminlord.  Skreech is really fun, too.
