Bonesplitterz: Wurgogg Prophet Command Ability

So the Wurgogg Prophet has a command ability, Prophet of da Waaagh! It states:

If a Wurrgog Prophet uses this ability, select a BONESPLITTERZ unit within 15". That unit can immediately pile in and attack as if it were the combat phase. This does not prevent the unit from attacking again later.

So a unit can pile in and attack during the hero phase. Savage Boarboy Maniaks have an ability, Maniak Fury, which states:

You can pile in and attack with this unit for a second time at the end of each of your own combat phases.

Does this ability activate when I use the Prophets command ability on them? Allowing them to pile in and attack a second time?

No, "as if it were the combat phase" simply brings in the typical sequences you go through when working out combat. Any ability that needs the combat phase to work will check the phase and note that it is in fact the Hero Phase and not trigger.

No. Abilities cannot  activate outside of the phase stated on the ability.

 

Even when though you are able to attack like it is the combat phase it does not allow you to use an ability that only works during the combat phase.

Thanks for the replies, I guess potentially attacking 4 times per turn was a bit much, but they can still attack 3 times per turn with the command ability, which isn't too much worse ?

If you want more attacks you could run an Orruk Warboss. Their command ability provides on extra attack for each melee weapon (including boar tusks) every time model attacks it your combat phase. You would get 6 attacks for each Maniak twice, assuming your Maniaks lived till the end of the combat phase to attack a second time.
