BobbyB
It seems that every time I get a 2000 point army painted for AoS the rules change or the army gets a new book and I just don't have the motivation to paint a whole new list in the same colour scheme. I'd planned to start nighthaunt with the release of AoS 2 and take them to blood & glory, but having made a start I wasn't particularly enthused about painting or playing them and didn't feel like they were pushing my painting like I should be. However I'm a very slow painter so if I was going to do something new for b&g it'd need to be something low model count that was fun to paint to keep my attention. Ironjawz certainly seemed to fit the bill and also appeal to my haphazard playstylez so after some scouting for colour schemes 'Da Rusted Claw' was born. I've managed to pick a list which is only 7 units, and put together a schedule that may just be achievable so the race is on. Here's a photo of my test model and I'll update later with the rest of the first unit EDIT: So I made it to B&G, and although looking back on the army now and comparing it to the stuff that I am painting now to add to it, the original 2k definitely looks a bit rough and ready, I'm chuffed I did it in 2 months essentially. I've bought a cheap and cheerful light box to allow me to get some better photos, so I'm updating the first post with some actual photos of the finished army. BobbyB
Couldn't get a decent group shot so here's some singles of the unit. Just need a Matt varnish to take the shine off
kenshin620
Great looking orange scheme there!
BobbyB
99% done on the mega boss part of my MBMK, so here's another crappy photo. Once I have the maw Krusha done and I actually feel like I've made some progress I'll sit down and try and take some proper photos
BobbyB
Made good progress on the Maw Krusha over the weekend, however I've been individually highlighting the scales, which doesn't really work when you're trying to go fairly quickly and it looks a bit rushed. Think I might get better results by going back a step and drybrushing
BobbyB
Drybrushed it and it definitely looks worse, so will be going back a step and taking my time!
LLV
Nice striking scheme! I can’t gelp thinking a bit of blue as a spot colour would bring it all together. Either tattoos or glyphs daubed on some armour here and there?
BobbyB
Possibly but I've got purple in there for tongues, pouches and the maw krusha so don't want to pile too many colours in, especially with all the green on the skin
BobbyB
Well I'm already behind schedule and I'm getting married next weekend so that's going to stuff it up some more! Just got to hope I can make some up at some point and that gore gruntas aren't too tricky. Just the wings left to do on my maw Krusha so here's a WIP

BobbyB
Thanks! Was a bit worried it wasn't clear what was going on, but think it looks alright now

BobbyB
Ok, maw Krusha is done, boss isn't stuck on yet and it's not to the standard I would have liked, but it very quickly became clear it would take me months to do it properly which I just don't have time for at the moment! Still looks decent from a distance and will be nice on the table top which is enough for now
BobbyB
I've assembled the boss of a unit of gore gruntas as well. That unit is due by....tomorrow ?. At least I allowed some overrun in the schedule!
BobbyB
Right! So the schedule went out the window with a unit of gore gruntas that took a ridiculous amount of time to paint, and here I am with less than two weeks to go. I am off work this week and i have the mega boss from mawkrusha 2, 5 brutes, 6 gruntas and a realm gate to paint. I still think it's do-able! On top of that I'm hoping to attend a one dayer on Sunday for practice, so ostensibly have 4 days to get all that painted. Here's a couple of pictures of the offending gruntas and the new maw Krusha
Shroud Of Night
Good work over the whole army. Really like the nontraditional color scheming, and the war paint rocks.
BobbyB
Sorry about the lack of updates but have been beavering away. As an indication of how slowly I paint, I had last week off, and put wed-sun aside to solely work on the army. Over those 5 days I managed to finish a unit of brutes, and start two units of gore gruntas, but still ended up having to paint every evening so far this week! All I have left to do now is touch ups on the gore gruntas tonight, and paint my objective markers and I'm there. No photos as yet because all my time has been spent painting, and looking back on the first model I did, the quality isn't quite the same, but will still be a decent table top army! Will hopefully get a shot of the full army, and then some proper photos after the weekend.
BobbyB
Made it to B&G without having to do any hotel room painting, which was a bit of a result, and have since been taking my time working on a few extra bits for the army. First one finished is this warchanter. I'll probably repaint his weapon at some point to fit with the rest of the army, just wanted to try something out. I've also updated the first post with some better photos of the army
