Claiming objectives in Places of Arcane Power

LordVitarian

Question

After the FAQ update to the claiming objectives text for this battleplan, it suggests the only way to claim an objective is to finish a move onto it.

Therefore am i right in thinking that a wizard/hero with artifact that kills a wizard holding an objective in the combat phase would NOT subsequently claim the objective for themselves as they did not move onto it in the movement phase? (as the now dead wizard held it during movement and charge phases)

Which means if you want to claim a currently held objective in your turn, you need to get rid of the holding hero/wizard in the hero phase so it is then unclaimed when you move onto it in your movement phase?

Obviously plays v differently to something like three places of power.

Correct. Alternatively, you could charge with the wizard, kill the controlling enemy model with some other unit in combat, and then pile-in with the wizard (since it charged) to capture. It is, however, an obtuse battleplan for capturing both before and after the FAQ.
