Sleboda
It's not a "tax." At worst it's a disadvantage or undesired requirement (but not even, really). I'm just saying that the actual word "tax" is not the right one. Words matter.

I cannot believe how 100% wrong this is - skill is what gets you to "the highest level of play", and it matters greatly at ALL levels. 6 minutes ago, blueshirtman said: what matters is first how tiered both players are Wait, you mean "tiered", as in degree of skill? You don't see top players winning event after event with their ogor+BCR lists, because that is the army they like. Skill becomes a non factor at the highest level of play. what matters is first how tiered both players are, if any of the lists hardcounters the other in the given scenario for the round and the last most important thing is some dice luck skew. Most things that are claimed to be truths aren't true. Ain't that nice. If skill were a non factor (which is absolutely THE factor). And the only factor is how tiered both players are and luck of the dice. Then you have handily created a (fictional) world were it's never your fault if you don't win the big tournaments. No personal responsibility needed. it's always the fault of either GW for not making your faction of choice top tier enough and the curse of the dice. Well done! A nice bit of Nietzsche philosophy in practice: creating a illusion to protect your own ego. ?
