Plokoone
These look great! I just started getting into zenithal priming for my Nurgle army and I was wondering how you paint your skin after the black, grey, and white spray?

I also glaze in a few greens or blues as I see fit for rot/bruising. The key I find with it is be quite random. Also be bold with the colours helps ALOT with nurgle Hope this helps some what. Anythi g else just ask.
ReAnimate Studios
Finished up a 10 man unit of blight kings. Really enjoyed the white armour on these guys.
ReAnimate Studios
First time playing with 2 part resin for water effect bases. Pretty happy with the results. Could be better and learned a lot from the process. Lots of work to do on the glottkin still (so many little details on this model) Next unit of blightkings finished apart from a tidy up on the bases. On wards and upwards 😊 Any feedback or questions greatly appreciated. Edited June 27, 2019 by ReAnimate Studios 4

I thought it a shame to leave them there 😇

ReAnimate Studios
So I started this project 11 months ago. I knew it would be a slow burn project. It has been plagued with fun, frolics, tears and joy. Lots of lessons learned and sometimes re-learned. I've also gradually pushed out of my comfort zone painting in quite a dark style. Upping my contrast and use of colour theory more. This is pretty evident looking at the blight kings. I've attached pictures with 2 miniatures from each of the 3 units. The first group is very dark and lacking contrast, the second group is a good middle ground and the final unit I think is spot on in terms of contrast and use of colour. Albeit they could still be painted better, they will do for table top standard 🤣 Can you tell I am critical of my own work? I usually just paint up an army to the clients specifics and then ship it on. So there is never really any way to gauge advances in painting skills. This project has certainly helped with that. And after each unit I've had a good think about how to improve on the next. Anyways enough of my ramblings. I would like to thank each and everyone of you who have stopped by to drop a like or a comment. It means a lot to know my painting brings joy to others. If you would like to ask questions or leave feedback, enquires etc drop a message on here or feel free to email me reanimatestudios@gmail.com Or follow me on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/reanimate_studios/ I will gladly talk paint, offer advice, or talk about projects etc Many thanks Happy painting, and enjoy the pictures 4
ReAnimate Studios
Thoughts on colours for the spines. I'm drawing up blanks here 😕 I want to achieve a dark horror theme, but will still standout and look good on the table (high contrast) while maintaining a darkness about it. Please excuse the shoddy work this was a quick 15 minute splashing of colours to get a feel for the new army I am starting. Many thanks
Tommy
Looks great so far, how about splashing that red blood colour along the spines? The technical paint one!

The technical paint one! Thank very much I will definitely add a little blood effect. I'm just trying to decide on a colour to make the spines stand out a bit. Instinct is telling me do black, but I'm unsure? Edited July 11, 2019 by ReAnimate Studios
Tommy
Black could be cool. Also the ridges look like the kind of surface Contrast might work really well on?

In the time it takes to paint wraithbone base colour and apply the contrast I would be able to paint something more in my style I think. Having said that I might try it diluted for the was on the skin. But thats not using it as a contrast paint. Just diluting to a wash. Kramer
Don’t know if you already have a narrative for the FEC. It might help with the ridge colour choice. Say it’s from chamon, maybe dark iron with lots of blood oozing from the exit point? Ohterwise black is a great choice for contrast. The only other thing I can see working would be a dark red.

I think it's because there are a lot of long time painters/gamers on here. Practice is the only way to improve!
