Sharkbelly
Long time Warhammer player here. While I am sad to see it go, I do find the possibilities of Age of Sigmar intriguing. I like the skirmish style of it. To that end, I am switching some of my old stuff over to AoS. Here are some pictures. This battlefield is probably a little tight for WHFB, but still allows lots of room for AoS. Here is the fortified manor. Here is the Garden of Morr and some extra gravestones. Farm fields and a Forge World well. Skullvane Manse, including a close-up of the "elevator."
Taketheskull
Nice looking table
Soulsmith
Really nice looking table, would be great fun to play on. Your use of the giant parts on the manse for the lift are inspired ? Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
Carnelian
Really great terrain! I think it would look even more amazing on a printed battlematt or something similar rather than the plain green.
Sharkbelly
Well, I decided to get a crusade case. The family and I are flying back to our overseas jobs today. It is now packed with all the miniatures I want to bring along--some painted and some not. Here is what's inside: 18 Lothern Sea Guard Bolt Thrower Mage The Silver Tower minis that I couldn't fit in the box http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x147/sharkbelly/image_zpszyxrsvk8.jpeg[/img] 10 Corsairs 5 Harpies Some Dark Elf Characters 16 Dwarf Slayer Pirates Dwarf Cannon and Crew 12 Reaper Miniatures A bunch of Araby models http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x147/sharkbelly/image_zpsy9otd2ni.jpeg[/img] A giant, kharybdiss, ironblaster, and 3 trolls (These are actually sandwiched in between trays, and not in one. The trayes do not easily accommodate large, intricate models) 30 or so Marienburg Empire models http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x147/sharkbelly/image_zpstusjhirp.jpeg[/img] A half dozen or so ogres and 20 gnoblars 30-40 Empire Pirates http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x147/sharkbelly/image_zpsjoipgo0g.jpeg[/img] I'll post an update in a couple of days when we have arrived. We'll see what condition everything is in!
Sharkbelly
Everything seems to have made the trip in great shape. Now that I have my stuff here, I have started a few projects. The first is a mermaid.
Sharkbelly
Here is the finished model.
Sharkbelly
Here is a touch-up shot on a blue background. And here is the other one of the "dark eldar prisoner" minis.
Sharkbelly
My next project involves a party of Arabyan-themed adventurers. I'd like to have one for each of the 5th Ed. D&D core classes. I'd also like to have many of them mounted as well as on foot. Here are the first two, a dwarf bard and a sorcerer.
Ademo
Looking good! I'm a big pirate fan and these have lots of character! Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
Sharkbelly
Thanks! It started as a pirate-themed Dogs of war army around 12 years ago. Over time, it has grown into six separate armies and many other models as well.
Sharkbelly
This little guy will be a familiar, likely for the warlock.
Sharkbelly
This was a fun little conversion. He'll be an animal companion or maybe even a rogue character: I used the 40K Jokaero, but took out the techie details.
Sharkbelly
Next up are the goblin rogue and the ogre barbarian.
Ademo
How did you do the black skin tone? Looks really natural! Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
Sharkbelly
Thanks! It's two shades of paint from Reaper. Muddy Brown and one that I got as a sample that isn't labeled.
Sharkbelly
Next up is Mydas the Mean:
Double Misfire
Great thread, haven't seen Mydas in years. You've done an amazing job on him, especially his face and the gem on his hat.
Sharkbelly
Thanks! I'm happy how it turned out, and it seems to have photographed well. :-) Next up is the first of my "mounted and foot" models. I want to have one version of each for the main characters for use in games. These two aren't quite a perfect match, but close enough. One Al Muktar's Desert Dog and one Vendetta Duelist.
Sharkbelly
Next up is the paladin: a Knight Panther.
Sharkbelly
Many years ago, I modeled up some spearmen/pikemen for my dogs of war pirates. Last summer, I ordered some spearmen bits to replace the ones I had put together. I like how they turned out! I think I'll go ahead and do the rest of the unit.
Sharkbelly
I knocked this guy out quick yesterday: the dark elf assassin/ranger.
Sharkbelly
And here is the bard, based on a lahmian vampire.
Sharkbelly
I just finished up the party wizard. I'm going to have to pause on this project for now, as the two final models (Mordheim Merchant and Fire Wizard) haven't arrived yet. Good thing I have other stuff to work on in the meantime...
Double Misfire
I love that wizard model, he's probably my favourite GW wizard and favourite non-undead Gary Morley sculpt of all time.
