CanHammer-darren
any competitive way to play lots of phoenixes? I just love the models!
Aezeal
Welll…. lots.... I think 2 is easily done.. and 3 is a not impossible either.... but you'll need some casters for your ice phoenixes and some battleline ot course.
MrZakalwe
Funny you mention it, Phoenixes were basically the only thing that made mixed order viable. Couple of Phoenixes with a Dragon mage and another one or two spellcasters with some chaff and a couple of bolt throwers (may be better replacing that with the Stormcast Ballistas and a Lord Ordinator)
Cerlin
I could see playing one of each pheonix in a mage heavy mixed order army. Especially since the fire one can come back now. I have a mixed order elf list that is a dragonlord, frost pheonix, high warden, 3 mages, and a lot of elves. It is a great army and lots of fun. PJetski
Frost phoenixes make great allies for any list that uses lots of wizards. There aren't many ways to reduce enemy wound rolls, and the phoenix 9" aura is great for that. Combo their natural resilience with some healing effects like the Emerald Lifeswarm and you've got a great wall unit.
