I kind of saw squatting coming. A few were a little odd like skycutters (yea that was weird, new kit too), but the aelf issue shows what happens when you smash 3 books of aleves into each other.

Theres only so many "elite aelf with 2 handed weapons" they can have before they get all redundant.

I mean I even said it a few weeks ago on this topic

Thats why someone mentioned how it was a "double standard" that skeletons warriors and elf archers are fine, but orcs aren't.

 

Now of course the argument is that Greenskinz are too old, only their Boar Boyz are late 7th edition. Everything else was older, even predating the plastic Black Orcs. In addition to comparisons they they don't "add" anything to the table when compared to Bonesplitterz or Ironjawz. Which is why theres potential speculation some Order kits could be dropped with "Role Oversaturation" (how many elite 2 handed weapon heavy armor aelves can we fit?)  or age.

Unless GW does indeed have a grudge with the O&G of old. The ghost of Matt Ward perhaps?

I still think the artillery was overly odd (considering the mercenaries), do you think new kitts are a possibility, like perhaps we get new cannons instead of a new hero like other battle tomes get (as there are already plenty of CoS heroes.

The ugliest version, with the worst loadout is somehow staying, the dude with the pistol is even better than this failure. This guy stands out negatively in a Greatsword unit. If the updated warscroll deletes the shield, mount and war banner option, we've been screwed over.

To be honest (and a bit selfish), as long as the updated warscroll allow me to play my converted general, I'm fine.

All I can say is this is the most depressing thing I've seen occur since starting AoS... For the people who collected and preferred these classic, grounded mortals, this can ruin the game.

Well I've just got home to find half my army axed! 😭

Not too bothered in the greater scheme of things though. My Warriors just got upgraded to Longbeards (appropriate considering they're all 20+ year old lead models), my Unforged's now way harder to kill as a Grimwrath Berzerker, and all aelves look the same, so who's to say what's an Ellyrian Reaver and what's a Dark Rider. 🤷‍♂️

My beloved Cannons aren't gonna be firing anymore, but ultimately they were a quartet of drybrushed artillery pieces with 15 crew - a lot of points, but not a large part of the army as re: time/effort. The Organ Guns can be recrewed with human models and used as Helblasters.

Well if this is true. I might have to go burn down all the GW stores within 100 miles. As this would mean my ENTIRE ARMY just got squatted. Yeah I am beyond pissed at this point.

Well it's pretty true considering it's happened already, so, I guess get your torch? I can understand why people are angry, but it should have been expected to happen eventually since day one.

Considering that some of the models and warscrolls being culled were in an AoS branded starter box, no, it should not.

Another thing is that just over a month ago, mercenary rules in GHB2019 gave people reason to buy the general on horse and organ gun/cannon, so new rules for the units, and then they are gone.

There are still some nice models in there. If you first take out the Nighthaunt, Tzeench, Gitz, Sisters of the Thorn and some other good looking sets, I have less of an issue with it.

The Mercs options being lost are the only ones I find confusing on how they got squatted. But just because something was in an old starter means nothing. It can ultimately be decided that they dont want to replicate that model. It might have to do with them not selling models that produce warscrolls for, allowing other miniature makers to come in and make it.

Not just the mercenaries. There is an article published a month ago with price ajustments to Order Draconis units. 

This is just  bad for their image.

I have as 1400 points of dispossesed,400 ironweld,600 high elfs,1700 stormcast

So when gw told us that we were getting battletomes for every alegiance i was soooo happy.

Then when they showed us this tome i was at first very angry as i was hoping for a full tome only of dispossesed.

But i tried be positive and think that i could mix every mini that i had and was a great book.

But then the 40% of the dispossesed units and ironweld units were deleted and my dragonlord and archmague in horse that i love and it is my favourite mini were deleted..........now i am not looking forward this book and only i am thinking of sell my minis or keep them as decorative due to the hours that i spent in them.

End of the day a battletome have been a blast for every other faction so it is a shame that when it is the turn of my army it is a tome that only inspire in me and others bad felling and only want sell our army.

Gw have done it so bad with this tome.........

Yeah I think we’ve heard enough complains for one day.

I fully agree with all of you, that this is really saddening, frustrating, and stupid.

still we haven’t seen the book, and there might be a slight chance that they’ve done something incredible, unbelievable, something we haven’t seen yet in any other tome.

I think for at least today, we should lay our grudges to the side and keep them ready till we know more.

because my book of grudges is already full, and my kind isn’t even known for having such a ludicrous system, or have ever used it.

I've lost any hope we're getting anything AoS relevant for the next month with this announcement. 

I half expected they will tell something about CoS, considering how many models they've removed from the store. Unless it was all clever ploy to distract the sad fans with more space marines.

You mean you don't want another boring space marine dreadnought/scout squad/librarian? In all seriousness though, I agree wholeheartedly, getting sick of seeing nothing but marines and stormcast releases for the good guys.

My biggest problem now is figuring out a paint scheme. I'd originally toyed with the idea of painting them in Stormwind colors, but I don't know what color I'd pair the blue with for quartered Freeguild uniforms.

I don't like Freeguild uniforms to be monochromatic because I hate the damned pajama party the guard are all invited to.

Though I guess I could paint them as salmon-colored onesies, like they're a bunch of prospectors.

Do Blue & White quartered cloth w/ silver armor & gold trim.
