And the Bloodsecrator is completed!

This was a challengingly frustrating model as both the axe and icon broke off and required pinning... and he balances miserably on the 32mm base that he comes with... but in the end I’m pretty happy with how he turned out....

Looking good! As a tule of thumb I always glue a small coin underneath the bases of banner bearers. Works like a charm.

deadline coming up and first unit finished. Slightly paler skin tone for the sisters. Don’t know if I’ll go back on my 20 witches. Rest coming over today! (Lacking edge highlighting probably)

Get my Soul Wars box just 3 days ago so all my painting plans were ruined by really long delivery. All in all there first minis with test colour schems for my Stormcast and Nighthaunt (sorry for bad pics). C&C are always welcome!

I have finished my core pledge, 3 Mighty Skull Crushers done

I have also change my Stretch, I am painting 5 Flesh Hounds & Karanak. This is going to be really tight before the Throne of Skulls event, but I’ve made great progress so far.

Hey everyone,

Just finished my stretch goal less than 24 hours before the event. Now I need to write an army list & decide on a narrative for my army!

So close now. About finished the base colours on 15 knights! "Malus" is finished. Once all are done I'll base all 15, the Chariot and the models I re-based. Then finally I can paint a Hydra or Dragon! Yippee!

Boom! Gameday yesterday. KO really shined, nobody really knew how badass they could be. (including the player in the first game... second game he got his combo's off.... not much was left ;) ) So got all my gameday goals. The arkanauts only need edge highlights, the characters almost completely blocked in and just some base layers on the frigate. So hopefully all done before the end of the month :)

Got back from a stag do earlier (and in a fitter state) on Sunday than expected so combined with an impromptu day off yesterday have pretty much broken the back of my Grimghast Reapers, Guardian of Souls and Spirit Torment (apologies on the awful picture).

Di0fMw4XgAEbXKa.jpg:large

They look messy as anything, but the highlights tend to help sort that out (and a matt varnish over the main body).  Next stage will be to paint the brickwork on the base and do the wash.  I'm then going to park them and get the Myrmourn Banshees and Chainghast up to the same stage* by the end of Friday (they're already assembled and undercoated).  That will leave me with some some of Saturday and most of Sunday (with a little bit of next week) to do some highlights, although if something happens and I don't get on very well then they're "playable" as they are :)

* I'd love to get a second unit of one of these, but think it'll be pushing it time wise.

I can smell the finish line with these! I've finished work for the Summer, but I'm away for a long weekend, so I don't think I'll make the July deadline but it will be near as dammit.

All the base colours washed, excluding some smaller bits like bare faces, the baby dragon, the 1st musicians horn (which I'm doing out of bone). I find from this stage I'm better painting each model as an individual as I tend to mix the highlight colours as I go. That doesn't work in batches for me.

Anyway, progress:

Can't remember if I posted in this thread, but chariot is done now. Also not in shot are 5 other knights who are at the same stage now.

Regarding gold, I can recommend the use of Druchii Violet in the darkest recesses after the Fleshshade has dried. It adds a lovely quality to the gold.

Love your work @Captain James Hook. The eyes are immense on the Vampire and the ghostly transition on the cloak looks great. Lovely style.

Thanks! The eyes were a pain in the ass. originally they were supposed to be normal eyes with a blu/green eyebags but i made a mess with the eyeballs, so i painted all the eyes and sockets with white and then added 2 layers of bloodletter. Then finished with a little dot of white scar. I'm pretty happy too with the result!

That undead giant is incredible!

Hoping to have my finished Knight of Shrouds up tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks! That's my count as Mourngul. I do not like much the original model and also i wanted it too follow the new nighthaunt stye. I call him the Grimghast Gargant
