Do you think having characters by themselves in the ships makes them too vulnerable?

I havent had them in compartment haulers, just usual transports with some other units.

With the garrison and look out sir bonuses its a bit disgusting to try shoot them so havent had people try.  But just garrison bonuses I could imagine itd be worth trying in some instances.

Then again it doesnt do much for magic. Might depend on who you tend to verse.

Im 2000p battle i think i would not do that, perhaps zilfin khemist with spell.

Alright....  I asked this before and haven't seen a specific reply.  Its pretty important to me cause I got a Thrang list that I really LOVE which uses both the Attack Squad and Intrepid Prospectors battalions....

Is Intrepid Prospectors still valid in tournament play???

I can't see anything for or against doing it in the current GHB or the faq that followed.  I am hearing alot of buzz in other factions as to why their battalions are still legal.  Much of it centers on a previous faq from last year which says anything not in the GHB 2019 and prior is no longer valid.  There is nothing in the current GHB that mirrors that.  Well Aether war came out after GHB 2019 in our case.

So....

What do you guys think?  Why would Intrepid Prospectors now be dead?  How can it be dead if other factions are still gonna take things that aren't specifically in the current GHB 2020 (such as a post GHB 2019/Pre GHB 2020 battalion from say White Dwarf for example)?  I'm a bit befuddled myself on this issue.

I don’t understand the confusing surrounding this battalion (from Aether Wars). It is only matched play legal if your opponent agrees.

So to put it practically; you can use it against your buddy if he’s fine with it but for tournament play TO’s will probably not agree to let you play with it.

Can you please point me to the ruling that supports what you are saying?  That is where my confusion is.

Thanks! ,😉

Hi, Im a beginner in Kharadron and Warhammer. I have already:

12 Endrinriggers / Skywarden

20 Arkaunaut

10 Thunderers

Endrin with harness

Endrin with suit

Navigator

Khemist

2 Gunhauler

I will magnetize all the arms, for be able to switch between all weapon and riggers/warden

I will play few games at 1000pts then go to 2000

I dont know what should I buy first to go 2000.. Im thinking about a frigate or ironclad? Admiral?

Frigate and ironclad are both great options. A Ironclad with 20 thunderers list won the cinderfall tournament recently. So that definitely has play to it.

and great model as well. Not to mention it will get you up to 2000 points real fast 😂

Its a clowncar right?

Can you tell me the rest of the list? And is there a place where I can find informations about top lists, tournaments results?

I will probably go to Ironclad and admiral then :)

An ironclad on it’s own will get you over 2k. I think it’s a good choice though, to complement what you have. I wouldn’t take all those heroes, and you might want to get a battalion in anyway. But otherwise you have a solid basis for a list with what you have. Which heroes to keep will depend a little bit on what skyport you take.

It’s shared a few pages back. It’s also talked about on the Aethercast podcast. (I personally can’t get over the audio quality but I’m a snob like that.)

but other than that you can probably also find it by googling cinderfall, Kharadron overlords, and Alexander Krohn.

I've been having quite a bit of fun with this new KO. The flexibility in Battlelines opens up list building option. A couple of questions that have come up during some of my plays:

- At the start of my Hero Phase, I activate a Aether Khemist ability. During Movement, can I walk that Aether Khemist into a Frigate/Ironclad to be garrisoned? Can that Skyvessel as per normal on its activation in the Movement Phase

- Using the Grundstock Escort Wing Battalion, I declare a target with Focus Fire. That target dies with maybe 2 or 3 attacks from my units but I still have 2 units left to shoot with. Can Focus Fire be shifted to a new target?

- An opponent cast an Endless Spell whose affects cause Mortal wounds on 6s against models within some distance. I had a Frigate with 5 Thunderers in it. Does he roll against the 5 models as well? And do any negative/positive effects occur against troops in Garrison from Endless Spells in general?

I'm fairly happy with what the game testers have done. Not sure about balance but again, the freedom to explore list building is liberating and our boats feel like respectable threats now. If I had a "want list" it would probably be:

- A new Unique named Skyvessel, preferrably a Frigate. Ironclads are nice but really, Frigates are a little more practical.

- A small, expensive but highly elite melee unit

- Another named character mainly for the fluff. Maybe someone to bring out the potential in Arkanaut Company, since I'd say we all have so many of them.

I don’t have the tome yet, just piecing bits of info from online- is it possible to give the same ship upgrade twice in an army?

Thought it would be cool to have more than 1 Gunhauler with transport capacity. I know you need a battalion for the extra endrinwork, but can you double up?

No it’s exactly the same as with other artefacts. One of each max. :)

-yeah you activate ability, pack Khemist into f.ex frigate and they happily fly away, only after vessel moved/flew high already in phase any move into it or from it is forbidden

-no focus fire cannot be shifted, once it`s set it`s set

-yes to all, endless spells are good counter vs. our ships for this reason. Of course if your opponent have to choose one unit to be affected by spell like with Quicksilver Swords f.ex. only one unit can be choosen, and if vessel is attacked it does nothing to garrison or vice versa.

Good morning fellow KOs,

I'm looking for a paint scheme for my KOs, simplestic yet stylish. I am really loving Stonecast Eternals, but I don't think Kharadron Stonelords could be a thing - I don't see how a ship made of stone could fly. So I was thinking about 2 schemes:

Corroded steel scheme or Swamp scheme (with moss)

What do you guys think about that? Have you already seen any pictures that could help me achieve those paint schemes?

Maybe the answer is both paint scheme at once, with a base a corroded steel + weathering effect with moss?

I have a back to back gaming session this coming weekend with one player running Daughters and another going Nighthaunts. By now, I know the key to dealing with Nighthaunts is Hero sniping but I've never faced DoK before. I heard most lists run a blob of 30 Witch Aelves. Could a solid round of shooting with Focus Fire delete them or should I also Hero Snipe?

I tried literally this. It came out well, and could have been better. I put too much moss on at first which covered up the details.

I never got around to trying out the whole scheme on anything bigger though. The stormcast was a trial for the scheme i thought looked best. Super rusty and weathered with moss

I had been aiming for a brighter forest rather than a swamp.
