Clad ATM. But frigate is finally at a spot where it doesn't feel over costed now

Been eyeing KO for sometime now, painting my other plastic until toys well I see what a new book brings.

Well I dont dislike the aesthetic of their helmets, it can make the army seem kinda lifeless. Has anyone experimented with headswaps? Any good pictures and references with dwarf heads floating about?

The drake gun is a good one. I’m also using two old dwarf miner guns.

There was a great conversion done with Frye’s layer heads. It works very well in my mind.

I am using (bare) heads from my space wolves.

Potential word of warning to peeps loading up on Skyhooks - if previous tomes are anything to go by you’ll be restricted to the number of special weapons found in the box and so there’s a chance your unit will become illegal once a new book hits. No guarantees obviously, just looking at precedent.

This was always one of the biggest things that held me back  from KO. With how broken their tome is, I cant imagine how they play now surviving.

 

That, and having a pure shooting army tows the line between ineffective and weak, or being too dominant at ranged so people wont want to play you haha.

Is there any consensus on the Gunhauler now that it's at 130?

Is it still too much for basically being a mobile cannon?

Is it better to put that 130 into say some skywarden, thunderers or endrinriggers?

Say in a list that already has a 40/10/10 of arkanauts.

Also, the frigate at 200 feels pretty solid.  Anyone have any thoughts?

  • Grundstok Gunhauler: -130 (now 130) - land speeder - 85 ish?
  • Arkanaut Frigate: -40 (now 200)  - rhino - 72 point
  • Arkanaut Ironclad: -40 (now 380) - baneblade - 430 

 

now i know its not the same as wh40k and aos but looking at the point cost - what makes me sad is the frigate. imo still not a viable transport ( then again maybe we cna compare it to the landraider ) but  then we need a rhino equivlanat for a race thats kind of slow

 

also anyone know of the answe rof mercs boarding ships now?

i feel the same with the price on it - of the gunhauler - im not sure - can it claim objectives?

This is the list that I will play this time post GHB19. I have some doubts regarding the weapons of the Skywardens (full melee? Full shooting?) and the Drill cannons on the Gunhaulers.

 

But, in fact, I feel rather comfortable with this list, heavy shooting, nice buffs regarding the Skyport and the Escort...

 

Just one question. Can I deploy the Frigate on table and then use the Endrinwork to take it out of the table?
