As cool as the new model looks, I probably wont use him. 

Also I‘m disappointed that battleline options are tied to whats basically the „master technician“ when it really should be the Admiral that unlocks more options. 


From a design perspective that means that you will see that new Endrinmaster as general in any list that want to go Skyrigger heavy, which makes him a far too essential model for his basic role, that is being a support character for the skyvessels. 

Also him vs. Endrinmaster on foot is a ridiculous comparison, as they basically fill completely different roles while basically being the same model with a different set of armor. 

One of the few little things that I dont like about the tome

 

Edit: Because the Endrinmaster feels kind of „forced“ to be your general by how much he improves list building. 

Also the „2+ MW keep on rolling until you fail“ artifact on him is pretty bonkers too, because if you are lucky you can win the game with him t1

Though I know I won’t win with it, my heart wants me to run this 3 boats + balloons list tonight. Deploying it all in just 3 boats with the Riggers hitching would be so neat:

Zilfin

Balloon Hero

Navvy

2x6 Endrinriggers

2x10 Thunderers

5 Thunderers

2x Frigate

Gunhauler w/ 5 man Endrinwork

1970 plus hopeful Triumph (Aether-Gold Share!!)

You CAN definitely win with that. Adn even if you don't you'll learn what to squeek, ehh tweak to stay as true to this set up as possible. Also definitly let us no. Because i'm quite sure this is quite close to wat a lot of people will want to play.  

But just to be sure. During deployment it's set up 1 ship then as a second drop set up a unit in garrison.

Just think it’s very low on bodies, but had a proper look at the Thunderer sculpts this morning knew what I had to do.

Yeah ty, was aware but thanks for confirmation. Hate pushing big units around so this is ideal and fun to paint too. 

Might try the Thunderers as plan old rifles initially and hope to get some massive broadsides in, see how it performs.

All the new options and warscroll changes have morphed the faction into a different playstyle, more "boat-centric" and less cheesy, I think.

I think the same. The iron Sky Squadron seems nice with the oportunity to disembarc arkanauts and steal an objective. There can be some shenanigans with that (Barak-Zon arkanauts hitting and wounding on 3+/3+ could kill a similar batteline unit protecting an objective).
Grundstock wing seems to be really good for that 3+ canons. I think that I'm going to build some lists around it.

Well its always a better chance to not roll a 1 than to roll it, so I expect this thing to oneshot big scary units almost every game

Then your expectations are too high ;) Try not rolling a one repeatedly a few times.

on average, you will do 2-4 wounds. Sure, occasionally you will one-shot something, but not every game.

In that list you need to be very careful with your bodies so I suspect that rifles and relocating every turn to the edge of your shooting range will be key.

„On average you will do 2–4 wounds“ – so 3 then? 

I swear you mathematicians are killing me – I agree when you are rolling 20 dice on 4+/4+ average wound count will be ~5 and you can see that happening most of the time. 

But stop trying to mathhammer when I or my opponent will roll a 1.

Likely because people (myself included) reference the druccii combat calculator and that gives a spread with the most likely results. So this would mean you’re just as likely to roll a 2, a 3 or a 4. 
It’s a nice tool if you are into that.

really? This is the first time I felt the battalions have value. Especially now that a ship and passengers are different drops. 
not to mention that depending on your skyport it can contain all your battleline in one go. 
personally I’m eying escort wing. Partly because I don’t have a second frigate 😂. But also because I reckon the gunhaulers will be quite good for me. 
get a cheeky 5 thunderers in there with the artefact and you can play risky with it to take out 5 wound heroes. While the rest of your army plays a little more cautious.

This! ^^^ 

I would have like to keep the extra attack in the Ironsky squadron but they are all more useful now. They reduce the number of drops and the additional artefact is more useful now with all the new stuff.

Ebay is going to be your best bet. GW still hasn't released the heroes that came with the boxes released last March, so if you want him you need to hunt him down on ebay or you'll be waiting at least a year.

I'll pick up my preordered stuff later today, but those already in possession of the book, I have a question...

In the new book, is there any more artwork depicting KO settlements or structures?  I have a floating KO city concept in mind for a terrain project, and I am wondering if there is anything I can use for inspiration
