Any reason in particular? Just their nasty dispelling ability?

I have a feeling we will, if we keep our warscroll more or less in tact. We place really well in tournaments for a none battletome army despite our allegiance abilities (besides summoning) be a bit naff, so if we just get stuff added to us, we could well become a top tier army.

Different feelings on this I believe we are a top tier army already. We have enough tools in the box to play any lists we come across. Our only real weakness is lack of decent casters but with slaves there are still decent options there even for that

Yeah, I can see us at top tier. Or rather, I think our warscrolls and summoning are top tier; if we lost out other allegiance abilities and artefacts, but kept everything else, we'd be in a similar (though obviously weaker) position to where we are now. Obviously we'd be worse (I'd miss the command traits a lot), but I think we can win comfortably on our warscrolls and summoning alone.

I don't think we even need summoning that much. The last tourney I was in I only summoned 10 daemonettes and an infernal enraptureness in all of the 5 games. Too much damage was dealt on the first 3 turns whilst being in scoring positions that is was already over. If I had a got a double turn once it would of been even more painful. I seriously inestimated how much damage fiends can do with +1 attack

The chaos factions always seem to get three sets of command traits and 4 sets of artifacts. One for mortals, one for specifically the cult and one for demons. Demons usually get a weapon list and general items list.

The ghb armies so far have often retained their allegiance abilities and have them expanded. Then you get new subfaction specific stuff, like warheard and thunderstorm in beasts. I would bet on getting spells, but probably not prayers.

that said there will be a lot of new things for them to add, so I have no idea how things will look in the end. They may even rewite the updated warscrolls from wrath and rapture like they did for blood crushers.

My guess is we will have some way to make demonettes and seekers hurt more. I think there will be ranged support and or teleporting. Probably more debuffs to enemy units. Hopefully new heroes with good rules as they seem to want us to focus on heroes.

Perhaps some sort +1 to hit or wound on charge battalion for daemonettes with a herald for the hero.

The portal twins will probably have a debuff aura is my guess.

I personally think it would be wild to get chargers strike first as a trait.

+1 to Wound for Daemonettes would be utterly bonkers, they are strong enough as they are. Also I would prefer if GW didn't continue with all this "always strike first" nonsense they are trending as it takes a lot of the tactical thinking out of the game

I've got a big question for everyone. I keep seeing that demonettes are effective units, but on paper they just look like expensive blood reavers. Blood reavers with meat rippers and a bloodsecrator have one more attack than demonettes. Their base is bigger and bravery/save is worse, but it seems like demonettes would be pretty close in performance. For my experience with bloodreavers they have one chance at a good hit, which usually fails, then die off.

How are you guys using Demonettes? What makes them effective for you?

Daemonettes' power comes from adding up lots of small things. At first, like you said, 2 attacks at 4/4/-1/1 is meh. But then you have to consider them in a large unit of 30 (as they should be); then 33% of their attacks are two hits with no additional buffs needed (unlike bloodrevears who need 140 extra points of banner man). Then they get rerolling 1s to hit for free (which is great). Their bases are smaller, which means double the attacks of bloodreavers as twice as many get in. Then they get to run and charge for free. That's not to mention the other buffs like double pile in, rerolling 6s, and -1 to hit that comes from other unit support.

To put things in perspective, if you have 10 bloodreavers and a bloodsecrator (210 points) vs 200 points of 20 daemonettes, both against a 4+ save.

Bloodreavers get 10 in due to base size, getting 31 attacks and doing an average of 5 damage against a 4+ save.

Daemonettes get 20 in due to base size, getting 41 attacks  rerolling 1s and making about 15 extra auto hits.  They do an average of 13 damage against a 4+ save.

As you can see, mathmatically, there's a huge difference in average damage and more importantly, daemonettes need no special buff - they are totally self sufficient, whereas the bloodreavers would become awful as soon as they're not in range of the secrator. So daemonettes do massive average damage for their points, are incredibly fast, work on their own (but can improve with further buffs), amazing bravery, and aren't super fragile if you have a 60point model next to them.

Daemonettes are horrible. Run and charge, the sadistic killer ability and rend means they hit like a truck (unless you’re up against something like sequitors or a treelord ancient).

Thanks. I happen to have a lot of demonettes, but I only used to play them in 40k. I'll have to start putting them on the table to see how they do.

So long as you run them in 30s and activate them first, they should work wonders :)  Just remember to reroll 1s, because it makes a huge difference!

I just read the article on warhammer community about the greater daemons. Does this confirm that the named keeper of secret will be Kyriss the Perverse (unless I'm mistaken and something else was already confirmed)?

Each time the playable named greater daemon was the third one listed . Or maybe it's a bait. It's a bit weird that the paragraph mentions Sanguinius...

Or maybe it's Shalaxi Helbane since the last one is an exalted KoS.

Nothing confirmed, but I think it's much more likely to be Shalaxi Helbane; they've never been mentioned before in the lore, so it would be super random to mention them in an article for no reason, especially when N'Kari could have been used if they needed to fill a third spot.

Does make you wonder, if we get Shalaxi will we have a specialised hero killer? Would be awesome to have an amazing duelist who can win 1v1 against almost any hero. Not that we need it, with the EKoS, but it would be a cool gimmick if they went all in for it (like a sword that does flat 6 damage if targeting heroes).

Wow. So I haven't looked closely at the demonette warscroll for a while. I think the R&R update really helped them out. The banner is reroll ones and their ability simply generates an extra hit, not just an extra attack. They really are no joke. Thanks for pointing that out to me.

Guys, do you think GW doesn't showed us all of the new models for slaanesh?

I dont see any mortal new model....

Darkoath/slaves and slaanesh are my last armys to represent the mortals of chaos in the mortal realms, i hope they show new mortals units and heroes, or maybe i quit of represent slaanesh in AOS, because i don't want a full daemon army.

I love the path to beign a daemon, but is booring if only have daemons in the army...

Well the problem is the trailer is basically a dual trailer for 40k and aos. So it is a little unknown just how many mortals will show up.

I do think there will be some new mortals, but not to the extent as say khorne.

Or there could be mortals that also dual as 40k slaanesh cultists via conversion packs like tzaangors, especially since Emperor's Children are the last non-plastic 40k CSM God Legion and it's inevitable they'll show up (though khorne zerkers could also use a facelift!).

All I need for slaanesh is like 2 maybe 3 kits that can be dual builds and like 2-3 heroes and that’s enough for a mortal faction. But no clue how they will go about it, if at all.  Perhaps our mortals will just be harlequins to go with the dark circus theme. Or maybe we will get more seedier individuals. We do have slaanesh mortals mentioned that are courtesans with fake daemonette claws.

I got the wrath and rapture box because I want to start a Slaanesh Army and a friend starts with Khorne.

Is the choir of torment batallion legal in match plays?

Yup, it's legal to use.
